Activity: 0% Longevity: 59% | | Should I call eBay to request an increase on my selling limits (Stealth) or wait?
Hello my everyone!!! :D
Sorry if this is another overpost topic...anyways, I've been an eBay Stealth accounter since april 07/13 and so far everything has been marvelous with over 113 positives received with no problem whatsoever. I have 41 selling feedbacks/ 75 as buyer. I started with 10 items a month ($500) then after a month was given 30 items ($1000).btw, I've been selling mostly clothing (Not branded name designers) and sometimes i'd throw for sale insanity and p90x's and some other random stuff..
Now, I want to know if i should call them to request higher selling limits at least 100-200 items or patiently wait so they do that for me?

This has been asked and covered tons of times in the forum.
It can be very risky to do this if you are not well prepared to answer the questions.
Also, do not do this unless you have backups up and running because one wrong answer by you and they will ask for docs etc.
I dont call them myself, I let them naturally go but I have enough accounts to spread sales out so limits dont bother me.
With you, if this account is running this smooth I would not call them as you could not know what to answer by asking this question itself as you have not search for what others have said about calling.

Don't call ebay , you will risk losing your account, if u need higher limits create more accounts which usually start at 10/1000 so if u want 100/10,000 make 10 accounts or 20 and than in few months when everything is run the right way you will see how great things will be with strong accounts high limits no holds, follow stealth it works

Just a quick question, why are you putting all your eggs into 1 basket? You do realize that if you do get higher selling limits and eventually hit the 200/$20,000 you will be asked to provide an EIN for tax purposes.
Why don't you make more accounts and spread your sales across multiple accounts?
And Yes....This topic has been covered oh I don't know....probably 50-100 times already.

Very much advised to learn to use SEARCH here.
Patience is the best friend of stealth.

You should start a few more accounts and work those through the same way with the acct you are speaking about.
Now is the time, so you will be ready for the holiday shopping season.

General rule is to never call eBay unless there is nothing to lose.
If you need to sell more, create more stealths.

The only time I call ebay is to clear up account issues. As SandyD mentioned earlier, you must have your stealth info handy so you are well prepared.
After I clear up the account issue, then I throw an "oh by the way, can you raise my limit?" question to the ebay rep to see if they will do it for me. Almost all raise it (as long as you were very polite in the conversation).
As many have noted, you DO NOT call unless you are required to call them...like an account issue. Calling ebay to simply raise your limits does not warrant that.
Remember, you are using a stealth account...its best to remain stealth by operating under the radar. Calling ebay automatically brings attention to your account. Answering questions wrong due to unpreparedness raises flags.
This is why everyone suggests to not call if you are only wanting to raise limits. Let them naturally increase over time. Best of luck in your decision,

I've called on over a dozen accounts and got my limits raised to 230 items $12,500 within 6 week old account.
I've only had one account they rejected but after 3 months they gave me a higher limit then I called on it and got a lot more way more.
But you should listen to everyone else on here.
Oh and the stuff they ask you is the stuff you filled in when registered. I guess it didn't work for everyone else and it worked for me!
I must have very good luck!
I've also had the limits of 100/$5000 on my main account years ago. I called in to remove it. And got unlimited.
So yeah DON'T CALL!!!!! YOU MIGHT BE MY COMPETITION! |

If you're going to call, be prepared for a nerve racking experience.
"Do you wear corrective lenses?" - I've been asked this question on dozens of accounts since last year.
Be prepared to socially engineer your way into a solution.
If you don't know what I mean, don't call them.

If you are going to call make sure you have ALL your info in front of you.
Better IMO to let the limits raise naturally.

Also if you don't have a SS# or EIN# entered into your stealth account than remember your identity is not officially confirmed with US accounts.
So if you call be prepared to have all ID on hand and also they ask where you get your inventory and may also ask to provide invoices for your inventory.
If your supplier is someone that they feel is a risk in anyway you will get shut down, if you can't provide ID and utility bills your account will be shut down. They also may plug your info into the Nexus Lexus database to produce a random question based on your info and if there's no questions this could raise a flag.
So there is alot of risk when calling in and I will never do it or recommend it. Yes you could get someone having a good day and just raise limits , but be prepared to have your account limited also.
Just create more accounts if you need more limits and trust me they all go up in a few months of good selling. Then you will have any so many accounts with big limits

As long as my account is in tact I will never call eb or pp unless there is nothing to loose. Just my experience.

If your 1st account goes down...they ALL go down! maybe not at the same time but eventually they will.
Make more accounts that are completely different in everything.

Better to create lots of unlinked accounts.

I've called ebay on open cases I had with problems and they only asked me. "can you please tell us your email and address?" then "can we have your name" then "Thank you how can I help you?"
Anyways here are the limits.
Limits
10/500
20/1000 (if you wait after 3 months of selling this is what they give you)
25/1250 (if you call in they give you 25/1250)
50/3500
100/5000 (after 25/1250 if you call in this is what they give you)
150/7500
230/8000 (after you call in after 100/5000 this is what they give you)
230/11300 (i called in and asked for a lower $ value just higher amount, this happened 1 time only)
As some of you pro members on this site with a lot of accounts don't even know how to raise limits from what I was told! I'd figure I'd chip in. anyways got 3 more dozens accounts to start. I had dozen accounts running and yes I do push all of them at the same time! It takes me 1 hour each 3 days to log in each vps/account to relist all my stuff. so far i got over 150 on all my dozen stealths. so i can now work on my new babies!

Everyone here knows you can ring eBay to increase your limits, but each time you do that you run the risk of eBay looking at your account in detail and limiting it if they don't like what they see.
That is why it is always advised to let the limits increase naturally, it also leads to stronger long lasting accounts. It has been a very long time since I have lost account with this method, and just as long since I have had any sort of item removed notice from EB.
