Raising limits with a phone call. Yes or no?
I know the matter of the dreadful call has been discussed a lot. However, I have done it before, on a real account and did not find it scary, probably because it wasn't a stealth account.
The account in question is 6-7 months old and I have been hitting my limits since the last 3-4 months. The account is still sitting at 25/750. The only increase given was at the begining with my first listing I got MC999 (I think it's normal) and had to send docs (which I did, of course). I have not had an increase since then.
I talked through the live chat with customer reps several times for various reasons, and the last time after asking about the limits I was told that I should switch to business account in order to get my limits raised, as it's showing that I am trading as a business, and not as an individial.
I would have no problem doing my homework and calling them to change to business, but I am afraid that they might not like my IP. I am using str**g VPN Dedicated IP, with no issues so far. I assume eBay can see my Internet Service Provider? At the moment it comes up as the name of some hosting solutions provider. I was thinking of switching to VPS, but isn't it the same, they will still see the name of a hosting provider?
I am trading on eBay UK and shipping from UK but managing from overseas, that's why my options are limited to VPN and VPS.
Any advice on how to approach this would be appreciated.
