Default How are your sales for the year going so far?

Just curious how everyone is doing so far this year? Thanks in large to the motivation given to me this site I have been hitting the Bay as hard as possible and having one of my best starts since about 08-09.

April like always has been rough. Summer months usually pick up.

Anyways please share how everything is going?

I really enjoy having some threads on here that cater to some of the more active members. Rather than just reply to all the newbies who just got booted.

By far the BEST year ever.

I usually quit selling in early November and take the rest of the year off...

but this year, I will be done sometime in late August or early September.

Poor sales in April. Something is definitely wrong. If you read throughout eBay forums, everyone is complaining about how bad their sales are for this month.

Might have something to do with easter and all the holidays.
Which mean people travel & go on holiday to.

i sell collectibles and I always tell people who ask me how sales are.." if you have great stuff sales are great, but if you have average stuff, then that's how your sales are". I know that is different than all the people here selling new stuff.

I have my own set of goals that keep me from online sales burnout.

We all have a right to some vacation time, and I prefer to take mine to avoid dealing with Christmas sales.

I chose to never work again per say. I have not worked in the past seven months and things seem to be cranking along. I might spend 1-2 hours a week working with internet sales teams. I am sure I spend a lot more time on this forum weekly than I do with ebay/amazon.

I understand the burnout. There was consecutive years I did not take more than 2-3 days off and non of those days were xmas or thanksgiving. When I took a day off I had to do twice as much work the day before and three times as much the day I returned. Last august I had a warehouse go dark and got stuck working 163 hours in nine days. I have not worked more than 2 hours in the past seven months on ebay and or amazon sales myself. I do work ON my businesses, acquisitions and traveling and having fun. I am now just getting a little board and starting new offices and sales teams not related to ebay/amazon.

This year has been awesome; April sucks. I feel like it has to do with the weather getting better, so people are getting out more. Plus, I think a lot of people are traveling and enjoying the outdoors now.

That is smart

If possible the last quarter although may be the most profitable can be career ending if it's on eBay

So avoiding the last 3 months of the year can turn out to be the best move as far as selling on eBay

As you approach the holidays Ebay and Paypal step things up in terms of security,

Also last year December was just so behind with the post office, and ups , I stopped selling December 13 and packages I shipped that day arrived December 23, now with the new system if you had a week of orders that arrived late for Christmas , imagine all them cases being opened, and you can't even fix a problem anymore with the new system as soon as a case is opened it's a defect, great incentive to actually make good on an order now,. What a backwards system , can't wait

Hoping May is better. April has been like half if at best of what I have done all the previous months this year.

My sales so far are about 15% better than last year.

I am starting to sell some new summer items so sales in April are looking good. I am not complaining one bit.
