Yay! A new record for me

A customer wrote me email demanding refund for something she bought SIXTEEN months ago.

Re: Yay! A new record for me

Unless if eBay pushes this one. I had a customer who came back 2 months later, PayPal notified me and said, it was my choice to refund because claim time was already past. The case dropped out without any success.

Re: Yay! A new record for me

You better refund them IMMEDIATELY. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

It is your responsibility to give all products to customers for free.

Who needs money?

What a joke.....I wouldn't even respond at 16 months, just invites aggravation

I had recently buyer contacting me 5 month later asking me for a refund. I told him to go **** himself! If someone contacted me 16 month later I'd burn their house.

What was the reason for wanting a refund by the way?

The transaction will no longer be showing on eBay anyway..but you better add him to your blocked bidder list I case he gets nasty..

If I were you, I was refund the money. For couple of $$$ you don't want ebay to get involved. Ebay gives more priority to buyers than sellers. Just refund it and keep yourself hassle free from Ebay...

but but but but.......

We do not know the value of the item.

Some of mine are over US$500.

Hell will be freezing over before I would do anything but put the bidder on the blocked list.

I agree, keep them out of your buyers list.

He just discovered that it was SNAD. He says it was SNAD when he got it, but he was out of the country.

Yeah, this is a $300 item, not something you can just eat the loss on.....

Ah well, this acct has 0 negs and 0 opened eBay cases in the last 6 months. If it comes to that I'll take a hit i guess. But I shouldn't since eBay and Paypal both have 45 days to open disputes.

It means

Significantly Not As Described.

SNAD

Means for buyers to attempt to get a refund by way of dispute.

I would fight it just for the principle of the thing. Make the policies work in your favor..

BigCJ 07-27-2014 09:59 AM

Re: Yay! A new record for me

Him being out of the country is non of your business.

He had a confirmed location to ship it out too, he received it. 16 MONTHS is ridiculous.
It wasn't 16 days, or even 16 WEEKS....but MONTHS? LOL

Some people feel so entitled.

Re: Yay! A new record for me

responding to his question would definitely open a case of worms. he knows he cant contact ebay or paypal on the matter because they will no longer have record of what was sold.

There's literally nothing for the OP to fight for. The buyer isn't able to open a dispute, leave a negative feedback, nor issue a credit card/bank chargeback.

You just reply back to the email with "k". Or if they waffled on just put "Too long didn't read."

GreenBean 07-27-2014 07:28 PM

Re: Yay! A new record for me

Or let it slide off into the sunset.

Buyer made an error saying SNAD.

Not too smart there after a timespan of 16 months.

;)

After 16 months? They cannot do any disputes with Paypal, eBay, credit cards etc all they could do is make ⊗⊗⊗⊗ accounts and try to ruin your eBay account. In which I doubt they would do that, and besides if you tell them they can't get a refund or ignore them, they are nearly as likely to do that if they were that kind of person.

Someone of that intellect probably couldn't make stealth accounts to wreck someones account, and bombarding an account from 0 or low feedback accounts probably wouldn't convince eBay they're legit.

I wasn't entirely serious in my answer, and personally I would just ignore them/block on anything they try and message me through.

That's incredible...I wouldn't even respond, BUT block them on every account I had!

It there a way for us stealthers to share these problematic customers as to add them to our blocked list. I wouldn't want toml3030's customer buying from me.... Seems like a PIA!

That's a goal of yours to achieve then

Re: Yay! A new record for me

My record is about 8 months when someone tried to get a refund.

Best option I did was just ignore the person. Never heard from him/her again.

Re: Yay! A new record for me

Hey OP,

Wait about 16 months, and tell him this:

"Hello (buyer),
Sorry, I just got your message. I have been out of the country for the last 16 months. Unfortunately, my cut-off for returns is 24 months.
Thank you
(seller)

eBay King 08-04-2014 01:44 AM

Re: Yay! A new record for me

Do not respond to the buyer. They can't do sh*t.

This is just another example of fraud, which is rising slowly unfortunately.

toml3030 08-04-2014 01:47 AM

Re: Yay! A new record for me

So I exchanged a couple of emails with the buyer, and I don't think he is trying to scam me, just a dumbass.
