Since the IP I use is on lease to me for all this time, there is no chance of linking this IP to any other account that I have. It eliminates the need for me to keep track of what IP I am using all the time. I have a unique IP for each eBay account, that never changes and that nobody else can ever use for anything else. I think that's pretty secure. Using a VPN you get a random IP every time you connect to their server, and if this matches another account there is a possibility of getting linked.. you have to make sure that the geographic location that the VPN sends you (randomly) matches the area your account info is, or another possibility of a 999.. seems less secure.
