| | | Cashew | 11-02-2012 11:13 PM | over 5 years on one account and pushing two years on two st ealths(still strong, but not where i want to be)
i have always paid the money owed at the end of the month with PP
never had any issues
i would think since e bay pretty much(i think anywayz) controls PP , it would be pretty much the expected way to pay for most people.
if you raise any flags with your setup, your screwe d anyway |
| saxtone | 11-04-2012 03:18 PM | So by the way i am reading through this, but i did not understand several things.
1- If I pay eby fees using a credit card that i buy, how would i deduct ebay fees that are in a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and personal information when i file my taxes.
2- how would i accept paypal payments from buyers? so if i add just the email of my paypal account that is changed, once the buyer pays, it shows $ money sign in ebay so basically ebay knows that i used my old paypal that was linked before with another suspended ebay account.
i appreciate all responses. |

You just have to find your own method you feel comfortable with. | I presume its better to use a gift card and control your money
and if eBay closes you down you will feel safe that they cant grab your money via pp and take it from your bank |

| arpichelago | 08-07-2013 12:07 PM | Personally my accounts are set up so they don't have any way of withdrawing money from my bank. :) and I don't really keep anything in pp balance. |
| helpmelol | 08-13-2013 05:42 PM | So... if I understand this correctly;
Do not pay any eBay fees with PayPal. Not even with the linked & verified PayPal account?
Always use a prepaid credit card to pay your fees?
Is it possible to put 1,000eur on a prepaid credit card and use that card to automatically pay your eBay fees (as your credit card on file), or do you have to use a new prepaid credit card every single time you pay your eBay fees? |
You can use the same prepaid credit card to pay your fees in ADVANCE of eB dipping into your pp account.
Even if the pp is linked and verified, you dont need eB going into it - only time money comes out of it is when YOU want it to be done...manually |
| glacier922 | 09-06-2013 07:48 AM | New here, created my first stealth account, haven't listed anything yet. verified through the chase liquid. Heard that liquid, paypal couldn't withdraw money out of the account, so that's a safety measure. But I will still pay ebay fees through gift card as a safety measure. |

I know this happens because those deposits remain in my liquid cards. My regular bank accts, they take back what they put in. |

| glacier922 | 01-04-2014 09:53 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I know hwga and many others say to pay eBay fees religiously thru gift card, one of the reasons is that pp could be limited. Right now it is becoming a bit inconvenient. For one, the vanilla gc never seem to be in stock so I got to spend gas to find that one retailer that might have it. Another is that activation fee.
I got an eBay acct that has 9 fb, PayPal bank verified and I owe about 30 bucks in fees. Is it safe just to use the one time payment option for PayPal or should I just go out and find another vanilla? Thanks |

| Salvo | 04-03-2014 03:29 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Any recommendations for cards to originally add? I just am worried about the new seller 21-day holds, and them trying to auto-debit me. I was going to just use paypal to pay fees each time, but you can't during the holds... |
| namjonesvn | 09-06-2014 08:18 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Will Vanilla gift card work?
It seems like using Prepaid gift card is the safest choice. However, I am concerned about the Activation fee. I dont make much money from EBAY and I have to pay activation fee every month for a gift card :tears:
If the point is not to let EBAY access to your Paypal account, Can I just pay the fee/balance as soon as I receive the invoice from Ebay (using my Paypal) ?
-Thanks |
| bluestraps | 09-13-2014 05:28 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I uses to wait until the end to pay fees. Sometimes I was in the area of 60.00. Now I will pay as I go , This also helps you figure out what its costing you for each transaction/ If you pay your fees with paypal. all should be good . |
| nerecit | 11-12-2014 09:06 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Is this absolutely necessary? I just pay with my paypal balance |
| Dmshark25 | 11-12-2014 11:30 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I also pay with my paypal balance and it works fine for the last couple years.
However, 5 days before eBay will automatically take the funds, I just do a one time payment and pay from my available balance
The reason is to control your funds, eBay is sneaky and although funds are available and enough to cover the bill sometimes eBay does tricky things like initiate payment from your bank account or credit card, possibly to check the name on your bank???
Not sure, but this has happened, so it's better to make the payment yourself no matter where the payment is from make it yourself, and never use your bank account |
| Underhand | 11-13-2014 12:05 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Does this still work? And does it work in the UK? Thanks |
| aking | 11-14-2014 10:51 PM | How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Yea I pay mine from my balance before ebay tries to get it automatically. I never let my balance go over $10. I like to control the pay outs so I pay a few times a month. |

| Spacecowboy99 | 12-01-2014 09:45 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Thanks HWGA for all this info.
I have read a lot of the comments within this post but cant find the answer I am looking for.
With regards to the setup in the UK:
I understand where you are coming from with one of the advantages being they cant chase you for these fees and tarnish your credit score should an EB/PP acc get limited/suspended. I dont understand how using a VCC to pay your fees manually hides any info from EB? When you setup a PP account you have to add a bank account right? if so then once they EB account is linked to the PP account (which must be done too right?) then surely EB has access to all your PP info rather than just the means by which you pay your fees? And even if EB doesnt have access to your bank details (as you pay with a VCC), should your EB/PP get suspended/limited, PP will look for the outstanding fees from your bank account as your VCC has no funds?
Which is why I am wondering why it is any worse paying your EB fees auto from your PP balance and should EB/PP get susp/limited then you just close this bank account and make sure there are no fees in your VCC?
Thanks,
Spacecowboy99 |

Anyone know the answer to my recent question (above)?
Thanks |
Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely VCC doesnt "Hide" your info from eB - you are still in the system with the PP/eB.
What it allows is that your PP funds are not touched...which is important because if you have any funds that are on holds or on "soft review" (meaning if you try to withdraw, you will be limited) then eB doesnt touch that - I am giving few examples | | All times are GMT -5.
