Which is why I am wondering why it is any worse paying your EB fees auto from your PP balance and should EB/PP get susp/limited then you just close this bank account and make sure there are no fees in your VCC?
Thanks,
Spacecowboy99 | Under UK banking regulations, you give paypal a direct debit mandate which means they can touch your bank account when they want.
If, you do not allow them to touch a bank account for fees, you are keeping the upper hand of control.

VCC doesnt "Hide" your info from eB - you are still in the system with the PP/eB.
What it allows is that your PP funds are not touched...which is important because if you have any funds that are on holds or on "soft review" (meaning if you try to withdraw, you will be limited) then eB doesnt touch that - I am giving few examples | Thanks rsot... I think I have grasped the concept.
So basically, there is no advantage of this way over the following scenario:
about to reach my PP limit (£1900) - I withdraw all the funds out. PP limited.
Now I hear back that PP have suspended me (or whatever the term is) as my credit checks/driving license failed their checks.
I now close my bank account.
Am I right?
The advantage of your (and hwga's) way of doing things is in the scenario that PP puts a limitation on your account, EB does not look to your PP for these fees nor does it look to PP for these fees. This in turn means you can choose to withdraw all PP funds without paying EB fees (if you want).
This also means that EB cannot take their fees from your bank in the event you dont have the full balance in your PP account and also in the event that they make a 'mistake' and withdraw funds from the wrong place thus shutting EB down?
Is this right? Am I missing anything?
Thanks,
SC99 |

:ranger: | Yes but if your bank is closed at the time of limitation it doesn't matter no? |

| livelifewild | 12-29-2014 10:29 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I am not sure if this helps anyone but what I have been doing for years is:
keeping the funds in my paypal account and having my paypal linked to my ebay as the default payment method. And it is taken out automatically from my paypal monthly.
If I do not have enough funds in the paypal account, and since the bank accounts are usually VBA (plus you do not want them withdrawing from you bank real or not) I usually have a prepaid credit card on file with paypal. I will load funds and pay the fees thru paypal with my credit card.
I understand that it is tedious with the gift card/ prepaid credit card. However if you do your research you can find virtual credit cards that work with paypal (my experience I still havent found one that works if you directly link it to ebay). With it being a virtual credit card you can add funds whenever you need to online without going any where or needing a greenpak or so on. Its easy and convenient.
Hope that helps! |
| steve70000 | 01-05-2015 12:40 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely yes i do the same.
keep money in iGo Paypal account for refunds and ebay fees.
about £100....
and just learnt that when you pp account gets limited your ebay is ok.but when you try to sell again with the same ebay account and you open a new pp account with diffrent ip slight veriation of address/name ebay ask you to conferm by adding bank accoount to pp tride for a houre yesturday with no joy of selling on the ebay account. |
| simba | 01-06-2015 03:48 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Hello,
I have a question, I have a VCC issued in UK, but my account is from Lithuania, and the VCC issuer is from Lithuania, but they use that UK system. So main question is if it is possible to pay with VCC (When I registered I put my real address) ebay fees when ebay is registered under other billing address (I want to pay fee's under eBay registered address)? Do they check billing addresses? |
Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely They usually work with matching up billing addresses - change the address of the VCC to match the Eb address |
| eencn9 | 01-27-2015 02:04 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Paying fees with paypal is best way. I have been doing so for about one year an no issues. This is given that you are doing everything correctly when setting up your accounts. If you dont do everything correctly, no matter how you pay you are bound to get limited! |

Why on earth would i want paypal to touch my bank account?
I use VCCs to make payments to keep control of my affairs.
Been working for a mere 11 years if you would like to know.

| enwayne | 04-22-2015 12:00 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Alright, I have read through this entire forum and found MOST of the information to be a bit dated. I have an Ebay and Paypal account under a friend's name and old address. I am using my son's mobile number for my Ebay account which I used to get the verification PIN. Now when I went to create my first listing I am getting prompted to set up a method of paying my Ebay fees. After reading this forum I think I'm going to bypass paying fees through paypal for now and just use a pre-paid CC. What prepaid cards are still good for paying Ebay fees? This of course will be the card I have on file, I am aware I can make a "one time payment" using different cards. |

| enwayne | 04-22-2015 12:23 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Wow! thanks for the quick reply. Yes I truly am in the US, thank you. |
| enwayne | 04-22-2015 12:58 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Now let me just make sure I've got this right. I never really intended on needing a stealth account until recently. My reasons for having one aren't necessarily for goods that are popular for being ⊗⊗⊗⊗d but rather just for a few items I'd rather sell under a different name. A friend of mine three years ago created an Ebay and Paypal account that was meant to be our joint account. We never really had a chance to use our new joint account but rather just used our personal accounts for items we collected. Recently I came across some things I'd like to sell however for personal reasons I don't want it to be traced back to my personal name, just in case. Both the Ebay and Paypal account have NEVER been used. They were both created under his name and address, he has since moved far away and these accounts have been stagnant for about three years. Am I missing anything here? When I went to create my first listing Ebay wanted me to either link my paypal account or provide a card to pay for Ebay fees. If I obtain a Vanilla Visa and go to register this online I'd of course be using my friends name and zip code then that's it? Nothing else I should know about? The Paypal account has no credit card or bank account linked to it either. My plan was to just send the money to one of my other paypal accounts through the "send money to friends/family" option. Again, I'm not trying to necessarily dodge Ebay with this account, I'm just trying to make the public think I'm someone else is all. The items I'd be selling wouldn't be suspicious items either. |
Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Why do you need to use your friend's name? Just because the accounts are registered in his name right?
As for sending money between PP accounts...that's not a good plan - you can be limited from sending money between PP accounts - why not add a bank account and withdraw? |
| enwayne | 04-22-2015 02:09 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Yes that is correct, because both accounts were created by him using his own name and address.
I was not aware of any limitations of send money to friends and family via paypal.
I'm not talking mad money either I'm talking less than $2,000. Is there any other reason I shouldn't do this that I'm missing?
Also I know ZERO about creating a VBA. Gathering from what I read in this forum I can simply go to a bank and open a checking account and simply use that for the paypal account? Because all my other bank accounts are used for my three other selling accounts that are under my name. |
| stuartalex | 05-01-2015 05:39 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I always pay fees by a manual payment during the month. I've made payments for my current ebay account fees from more than one paypal account and even using the Paypal "Pay by Credit Card" option which means you don't have to sign in.
Done this for years with no issues |

... | I thought linking a PP to my bank account was what we were all doing.
I've been paying my Ebay fees using the linked PP acct for all my stealth account for a few years now.
This is what Aspkin's book teaches--and it's the method I've read about in this forum as well. The way to get your money out of PP is to withdraw it to your bank account, yes? |

Most gift cards can be used without adding any personal information.. I would recommend getting cards that don't need info added & only use that card on 1 account till it's used up. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:35 AM. | |
