Very well written with a Perfect "step by step" process :yar: |

NEVER link a old personal paypal once used with a different ebay account to a new stealth account. This is a recipe for disaster |

| kirkland | 04-06-2017 01:09 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Hi guys, I'm new here. Trying my best to understand things. My 2 questions (sorry if they've been answered:
1) I keep seeing that its a bad idea to pay eBay fees with PayPal but I don't see WHY. What if I leave a couple hundred bucks surplus in my account to cover the fees? I suppose theres always the possibility of the PayPal balance not being able to cover the required fees for whatever reasons (payment holds, pending payments, etc), but in the event that it was always kept up to par... there would be no problem, right?
2) Lets say we DO have zero balance in our PayPal, and ebay draws fees from the bank account tied to your PayPal. But let's say the associated bank account is a business account , NOT a personal account (e.g., biz checking for XYZ trading co.). When PayPal forces the withdrawal from your bank, would they still see your personal name on the account? Or just the business name "XYZ". Would they see the address?
Thanks! |

Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely 1) You said it correctly kirkland - you dont have to risk eb dipping into a pp where there are payments on hold or pending payments etc. - it's not huge thing but if you have a few hundred bucks in the pp free and clear, then by all means use it. I myself like to pay fees ahead of schedule and avoid eb touching my pp, regardless of funds in it.
2) When pp withdrawasal by pp - but it can be seen on manual review. |
| Captainsock | 04-12-2017 08:07 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I'm sure I'm a day last and 15 pages short for here's my question!
As for reinstating my ebay late fees will i have problems linking a fresh new PP if my prior one had been shutdown? Will mismatch names be a problem? |

Thanks! | 1) I've always let eBay dip into my PayPal balance every month and take their fees. Its so much simpler and easier, rather than loading up VCCs each month. I've not had an issue to date with this.
P.S. I make it a habit to never withdraw my entire balance. I'll always leave around 25% behind to cover fees, disputes, one off holds etc.
2) There have been times where there wasn't a sufficient balance. In which case loading a VCC does the trick.
What name will PayPal see? It should be Business, but I would put that down to the bank itself, i.e. how much it wants to divuldge. But even if it did give the personal name too, its very unlikely PayPal will use it to link you to another account, just by the "name". Bear in mind they have nearly 200 million users, thats -> 200,000,000 ... and Im sure someone else has your name.
Bank address - no they dont dish that information out. To summarise, using your PayPal balance to cover fees is fine. I've not had a single issue to date.
Good Luck :thumb: |
| jojo2012 | 04-12-2017 09:01 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely There is NOTHING wrong with letting eBay take fees from pay pal as long as you leave enough to cover the fee. Buying cards to pay is a waste of time & $$$ |

| jeanericblass | 11-21-2017 05:43 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Although you already have added very good points well paypal is usually the safest way of transactions specially for customers not for sellers. However here is a procedure that how can you pay ebay fees with by using PayPal.
To make a one-off payment:
Log in to your eBay account.
Click My eBay at the top of the page.
Under ‘My Account’ click Seller Account.
Under ‘eBay Seller Fees’ click Make a one-time payment.

Click the Pay button.
To sign up for Automatic PayPal Payments and authorise eBay to withdraw your seller fees directly from your PayPal account each month:

| tree88 | 05-11-2018 10:10 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Well once again this forum has saved me. Thank you to everyone.
FYI: I never use pp to pay eBay. To much info for eBay to have. If you are established a vanilla card works great. If you are not verified you most likely need another card.
If you are new to this stuff read everything you can on this site very carefully. Do not read it when you are in panic mode - you will miss too much important info. Wait a day or 2 - breathe then read & do what the majority of senior members say. |
| johnwick1 | 05-11-2018 10:35 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely I always have more money in my paypal for account fees and even if I was banned I would still pay ebay their fees with no problem.
Should I still use cards to pay my fees each month? |
| cpoulos62 | 05-14-2018 10:40 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Sorry about this newbe question but I read conflicting suggestions and so feedback is appreciated.
1. I read do not leave funds in paypal for a stealth account. I only leave a few bucks to cover shipping but not much else.
2. When eBay fees are due, I let PP withdraw the ebay fees from my attached bank account. This bank account is used solely for this PP account. My bank, BOA allows mismatched names.
Is allowing PP to take $$ out of my attached bank account a bad idea? I would think no because why have a bank account used solely for PP deposits if the idea of stealth is to mimic a real user who would deposit and withdraw funds.
Thanks for anyone who has the opportunity to review and comment. |

1. You should leave enough for shipping + any fees that are due to go out that month.
2. You should let eBay collect fees from PayPal account. But not your bank account, that can cause issues should PayPal review account - they'll see a name mismatch. |

General rule of thumb is don't take tax advice from someone on a forum, as bad advice can land you in hot water. Nothing will happen to them. |

I usually pay ebay fees with a virtual prepaid card. Just open a new virtual card for each ebay account.
Load it when it is needed and ebay charge it automatically. |

| Digger12 | 07-30-2019 11:59 PM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Hi guys my PayPal is been hit with the 180 days limitation but my eBay is is fine. I don't want to lose my eBay as it's still in good standing order. I have previously seen forums that tell you how to pay eBay fees using some cards from SANISBURYS can anyone tell me which cards are those ones?
Thank you in advance |
| winge00 | 07-31-2019 02:42 AM | Re: How to pay ebay fees & do it safely Hi, As the thread starter said when you pay eb fees through VCC as one off then the amount owed should be less than what you have on VCC.
Here is a problem, I owe ebay 110 pounds and I can not find any VCC from sainsburys/asda which has more than 100 pounds and you can not load more money on them.
How to overcome this issue. Can I use one card and pay 100 and then use another (2nd card) to pay rest. OR what is the solution please.
My paypal had gone limited as could not pass Ids check, so attached brand new paypal to existing eb account, ebay is fine so far.
Please advise as date of paying to ebay is approaching soon. |

one quick question. I have noticed that taxes cut off is 15th every month. What if for example i have £700 tax to pay, i pay it with gift card and i sell something after 5 mins? i won't be able to pay tax again.
should i pay the taxes at 23:55 on the 15th ?
or should i add the gift card as default payment for tax and refill (not sure how these cards works)
also what is gift card should i use for UK ? |

How to pay your eBay fees and do it safely.
This is assuming that you have set up you Stealth eBay account according to the Stealth Book and all is going well for you.
When you have an eBay account that is doing well you must pay your fees in order to keep that account doing well.
This is what I do on all of my accounts.
I have accounts selling items everyday and have been for OVER 1 YEAR.
I have a Deluxe Gift Card as my default credit card on file.
The funds have run out on this card about 10 months ago.
As long as you pay your fees BEFORE the date that eBay automatically tries to collect them from your card on file they will NEVER know that the card on file is a dead card.
I go to Walgreens every month and purchase a few $100 Yellow gift2go cards.
I then log into the gift2go web site and load the correct eBay user information onto the card I want to use.
Then I log into the separate user account I have set up on my computer for this account.
Then I use AOL Dial-Up to gain access to the Internet.
Then I use my regular web browser to log into my eBay account I want to pay the fees on.
I go to the “Seller Account” > “One Time Payment” > “Pay with your credit card” > “Use a different Card”
This is where you enter the card numbers and Card Identification Number for the yellow gift2go card you have loaded the information onto.
I enter the card # and the 3 digit code on the back and the amount I want to pay.
Amount has to be less than the card value or equal to it.
Poof… My eBay fees are paid and I have NO PROBLEMS.
I do NOT use my paypal account to pay my fees for other reasons that I will not get into.
This routine has worked for me for a long time and I stand by it.
If you have a different way that works for you then good. This is mine. ADDED on March 18. 2009
But you ask.... WHY??????
In order to sell on eBay 90% of us MUST link a verified Paypal to our eBay account....
We all know this.
eBay does this so that they can check your identity.
They use your Identity Information from Paypal to check the identity.
IF you do pay your eBay fees with your Paypal accounts here is what can happen:
Version 1:
If you set your eBay account to automatically pay its fees with your Paypal account you will lose.
If your account goes NARU eBay will STILL attempt to collect their outstanding fees through Paypal.
But you were smart and kept your Paypal account empty.... Right?
Paypal will pay eBay and your account will go into the negative.
Now your Paypal account is in the negative.
Your Bank account that is attached to this Paypal account will get hit by Paypal for its outstanding balance.
But you were smart and kept that Bank Account empty of funds.... Right?
So when Paypal attempts to get their money there is none there.
You have now been hit with a over-draft fee by your bank. Somewhere between $10 and $40.
Paypal will keep doing this to you account in order to recover their funds.
Sometimes up to 5 times before they stop... If they do.
Each time you get hit with a over-draft fee.
Now your Bank Account is in the negative. BAD NEWS for you because your account is in your REAL NAME.
Now you have to pay the bank.
All of this could have been avoided by just paying your eBay fees with a Pre-Paid Credit Card.
Version 2:
If you just pay your fees with Paypal and do not have it set for automatic withdraw.
If your account goes NARU eBay can STILL attempt to collect their outstanding fees through Paypal.
Because that is your base payment method of choice.
eBay will attempt to charge your Paypal account for any and all outstanding fees when you account goes NARU.
Just the same way that they would attempt to charge your credit card you have on file for these outstanding fees.
See above for the finishing steps you have to deal with.
------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------
You have also provided eBay with another direction to link you.
If the information in your Paypal account does not match your eBay information that is bad.
If you make a mistake and pay from the wrong Paypal account that is REALLY bad.
But the entire idea behind the "Stealth Account" is to provide eBay with no information aside from the minimum required.
If you pay your eBay fees with your Paypal account you are adding to your eBay information file and that is not good.
Do not link your Paypal Financial Information to eBay.
The less eBay knows the better off you are.
Now if you would have NEVER paid eBay with Paypal none of these things could ever happen.
I am not saying that they will happen every time a account goes NARU.
I am not saying that it will happen to 1 out of 10 accounts.
The above listed scenarios could happen to you... And have happen to me before in the past.
Remember the only advise that I post are situations that have happened to me in 1 way or another in my eBay history.
------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ ------ | Does this still work? |
