Hi, I have just resolved a limitation on my paypal account and ebay account (both stealth) which I was very pleased about.. they are both in my friends name which he is fine with.. I linked my own bank account to his stealth account..
I have just gone to refund a buyer for an item he returned but instead of paypal taking the money from the balance in paypal they have taken it from the bank account (which is in my name not my friends).. this seems strange to me as it has never happened before, I had over £1000 in my paypal account and the refund was only £15..
Will paypal be able to see the name on the bank account when they take the money for this refund and will this cause me problems (my own paypal account was limited a few months back)??
Should I delete the bank account that they have requested the money from?

there is no way that paypal would take from bank when there is balance available. £1000
cannot be available, otherwise they would take the £15 from it, end of story..
cancel direct debit mandate.

They did try and take from the bank and I DID have over £1000 in the balance, the problem was that the balance was in sterling and the refund was in Euros and I had no Euro balance..
So if selling to overseas buyers you need to keep a balance in their foreign currency in case of refunds.

then when you don't have enough funds to cover the fees, ebay will withdraw from the bank you attach with paypal and they can get your real name?
is that true? i always thought there no way they can get my real info for just withdrawing money from my bank, please advise
I also have other question, i think lots of people confused
I have a same gift card which i use to verify both ebay and paypal ( usually if i have fund in my paypal,i bought other stuff and sell it outside)
In this case, can i just pay ebay by one time payment by paypal( not link it)
i don't think ebay will get your info as you didn't link it right, or even they do, the credit info and other detail are just the same as i use same stealth info to registered on both ebay and paypal
Can any one advised me is it safe if i pay ebay fees via paypal in the situation above?

correct, look at any credit from someone to your bank statement, you usually see their name or company right? Well Ive never seen paypals statement but in theory it could be the same. You could change it, which it is possible to do with some banks.
Yes you can pay the one time payment with that same card or another one (as long as not linked to any other account) Gift cards wont show name, either because they dont have one, or because they are the type where you put any name you like.
oh yes james185, the currency thing, you pmd me, hope it worked out for you....

about echeques coming out of your bank, drawn by paypal - I actually checked on this recently. I dont know if the bank guy was correct or not but he said that paypal just get your paypal reference and NOT your name but then he said they may get the name you put on your dd mandate, so unsure which it is......

So, I just bought (3) $100 prepaid Amex Cards to try this and it was declined......let me guess Amex doesn't work for this?
Also, I see that they have Visa Gift Cards that you can load $25 to $500 on....wouldn't it just be better to get 1 card with the amount you need.....or do you have to call to register these....got to get these fees paid by Monday.....and my Walgreens does not have the Gift2go.....
Anyone know any other cards I can use that can be registered online?

Or will PP/Ebay not link all of the accounts together?

... and so my question is; if you're already doing automatic payments with paypal, it it too late to switch payment methods?

Maybe I'm just blind and I missed it, or it wasn't written... Here is my situation.
Paypal account is limited, eBay account was still perfect (would be still perfect, but I didn't pay the fees)
eBay tried to take the fees out of Paypal because it is my automatic payment method, but since Paypal is limited they couldn't.
Now I want to know if somehow Paypal or eBay will take money out of the bank account that is attached to my Paypal account? What if I close that bank account?
It's been about 2 months since the limitation on the Paypal account and so far eBay just sent threatening emails lol. The amounts we are dealing with are $5 - $50 (I have the same situation on a few accounts)
I just want to know if eBay can somehow do something bad to me whether it be pull out the funds from my bank or somehow mess with my credit, etc. The accounts are stealth and should be unlinked to each other.
Thanks!

I always link whatever ebay account to the paypal account im using and pay my fees with paypal and never had a problem. This process seems like it takes too much time and effort. Just verify your Paypal with a VBA so if it goes down with your ebay it wont effect you. Been doing it for years without a problem. | |

I have tested many ways and have had not one single issue with paying my fees auto through paypal.
If I remember I did have an issue with a card of some sort but cannot remember which one.
Knock on wood I have never had any issues with them taking it out. In fact I think it has helped because they know they are going to get their money.
I always make sure to check the account fees and never go below what I owe in the pp account.

I'm new but after reading this entire thread it seems to me that there is a simple solution for both:
1) Those that do use Paypal to pay eBay fees
2) And of course those that choose not too.
Wouldn't the simple solution be to pay whatever fees you have incurred NIGHTLY ?
This is the method I used before I was NARU'd for VERO violations and not only did eBay wind up refunding MY fees that they owed prior to the ban, but I never EVER was late since I always paid as I incurred the fee that night.
The bottom line is if you're using a VCC, PrePaid, or Paypal, as long as their greedy palms are greased, while you're busy making money you can also rest peacefully at night knowing you dont owe them SHEEET.
Perhaps I'm wrong but it just seems the smartest thing to do.
But in any event I'm open to suggestion
