Default Domain names as eBay ID

I was thinking about making my Domain name my ebay user ID name, Does this violate ebay Policy

For example

if i put Aspkin_com as my ebay user id?

You will get flagged by eBay rather quickly if they even allow you to to try it in the first place.

I've seen people with them, just not sure if its something i wanna do if its going to draw alot of attention to myself

The people with these names were pre whenever they implemented the policy not to allow this. I think 04 was the last year you could do this.

And even with what has been said here is a bit more info....

I recently took a job, Oct of 2008, at a company to run their eBay business.
They have had their account since Dec of 2003.
Their name was XXXXdotcom and eBay contacted them last September and made them change their name.
(When I started in October and it still had the name change symbol on the account)
So even the older accounts are being forced to change their name.

^^^^ anything that 'suggests' a commerical enterprise O/S of ebay is frowned upon. ebay has certainly been much stricter in the past year. 'Old' accounts are no longer that immune from their evilness.

Wow. Didnt know this. I know the one guy I know was sine 98 and they told him he could keep it. But now things have changed. I dont know why ebay would allow it...its not good business for them.

^^^ people going straight to the seller's site eliminates the need for ebay, so i guess from a business perspective i can understand ebay on that

The account "buy" is allowed to sell stuff cheaper on "buy.com" than on eBay because they don't mention their website on eBay and just call themselves "buy", never "buy.com".
