Activity: 0% Longevity: 53% | | called in to raise limits and failed id test
i called into ebay because i had 0/0 limits. i guess i tried to sell something before i added vcc or it culd be that i used voip. but it was a total careless fudge up. but i called in for the heck of it. got a nice old man. he gave me the id test and i failed it twice. then i was like "ive taken tests before on other things and i guess theres just someone under the same name as me living in the same state as me." so he said he can raise the limit to 10/500...which isnt much but at least i can make up for the vcc lol.
funny cause the dob i had given was 1932 and im 27. the guy on the phone sounded older than i did and pretty sure he wasnt as old as the name i used.
has this happened to you guys? did i get luck or do they always do this?
btw i told him that i was just gonna sell garden gnomes i had around the house because my wife hoards them like a pack rat.
i did get a call back from security though. he called to confirm what i was selling and my id and stuff i guess to see if the number belonged to me? but i hung up on him mid way in case he was gonna ask any more personal questions.

Did you use Google Voice by any chance? Quote:

| I usually make my stealth accounts 18 for this reason. Quote:

| Typically I get 25 or 50 items per month limits...but I've had as low as 5. 9/10 times you'll get your limits raised after calling in, 0/0 or otherwise. It's just a matter of being confident. Quote:

| That's hilarious. Also a great and unique "low-risk" item to sell. Quote:

| Hanging up on them wasn't a good idea. Your account started with 0/0 limits, you had nothing to start. Losing a 10 item per month account isn't a big deal. Look at all the talking to eBay reps on the phone as practice for the future. NEVER hang up on eBay....it looks VERY suspicious. IF you MUST, at least make it look like you lost signal. Make static sounds and drop the phone, etc.

well tbh i didnt hang up on them. the stupid text+ app hung up. he kept saying hello ver and over and couldn't hear me, but he had already asked his questions.
the thing is.... i cant find these freaking 4.99 tracfones anywhere!! like they are out of stock everywhere!!! i searched far and wide. so i was like **** it...
like i said i know how i went wrong.. i just thought it was funny how he gave a raise in limits even though i failed his test.
so the 0/0 is most likely the phone? never got a definite answer on this

Yes, if you use a "non-real" phone #, 95% of the time you will get 0/0 limits. I was fairly sure I made that clear in my original response.

I have never created an account with initial limits greater than 100 items per month, so I'm not the right person to ask. Perhaps one of the account sellers will weigh in here. Or, you could just test it (real info, personal account, and f@ke info, business account) and see if there's a change.

Phone number plays a big role in getting zero selling limits. I can confirm it.

I just want to add, calling in for higher limits CAN work - IF you are good on the phone. If you are confident, yet can sound innocent, like an eBay newbie, this CAN work. But if you are not good with talking to people, I would not advise it.
AND - calling in CAN backfire if you don't know what you are doing. Of course, if you set up an accounts and the limits are 0/0, then you basically have nothing to lose by calling in. If your limits are 100/5,000 then I would just let the limits increase naturally.
With stealth, ANY TIME YOU CALL EBAY THERE IS AN ELEMENT OF RISK!

100% agree with what you said.
Phone numbers like everyone else said please a major role.
I've had an account linked to someone else because of it. The rep was more than useless and wouldn't overturn the suspension but oh well, I barely had used the account. That's why its best to use an actually number you have control over, not like a text.now number...they're OVER USED

For those who know how to do it, it can result in increased limits. I just don't think it is for EVERYBODY. Like I said, if you are good on the phone and can think quickly, and are aware of the risk, then by all means, have at it.
And come on, solefoodbk, I can't be on EVERY THREAD on the forum! |

Like you said there's nothing to lose. But yeh only for 0/0.
For the limits thing I just ordered 6 trackfones so ill do that experiment soon. I know that it had nothing to do with credit. It has to be a pattern. Cause bots control this. So there has to be a reason all my legit accounts with real info had high limits compared to people who have low limits. Ghost why are all your limits so low?

But I always use f@ke info, create personal accounts, and list items for sale the same day I create the accounts. Many members recommend waiting a month or longer before making the account a "seller account". I don't like to waste time with it. Though from the sounds of it, the way to make a high-limit stealth account might not be stealth at all......

Personally I don't wait a month to sell. On all my accounts legit and stealth I always sell within the first week. You can sell the same day too but there's a trick you must do to bypass the robots. Discovery requires experimentation. I'll test a bunch of accounts this month. Imagine if there was a secret to getting all high limit accounts every time. But I believe that you can emulate anything so we shall see

I meant you can sell the same week too but you need to do a special trick with a listing

well i always make a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ low priced listing around 15-20 bucks... for something thats obviously overpriced for the junk that it is. for example a mood ring or a plasitc kid chair and you list it as an auction for 3 days. then you do it agin for 3 days BIN. then you should be good to go. if some dumb people want to buy it then i just outbid it with one of my many ebays.. but your problem is getting initial high limits. i need to experiment more with this. but it could be that you need an ssn? i noticed that if a business account is done right... it most likely would get high limits but i havent been able to fully confirm this. cause all the legit accounts i have were business accounts.

I have not been able to produce VERY high limit accounts unless Business account. However I am talking $150.000 - $250.000 a month limits.
These are business registered with the state and public record.
