Being a separate company, PayPal is going to start moving more towards the financial sector, rather than being eBays slave.
This, by it's nature, will require more risk. Thus, they will be harder on accounts.
I can't predict the future, but this is my guess based on the path they seem to be following. Don't go and buy stock based on my opinion though.

Since the July split it's been progressively getting worse by the week. sales have halved since then.

I like to finish my buying week before Thanksgiving. I do not like buying in December. My buying peaked in October and am slacking off now.
But I notice most people not like me.

Well nothing last forever guys. Most probably ebay is losing alot of customers also as well as sellers with all the crazy bans ebay does. Less sellers able to sell and buyers not being able to buy what they want from less sellers. I'm telling you this new world order is killing the free market.

Seems to be multiple buyer complaints before being removed. Granted eBay has always been known for some crazy suspensions it seems to have laxed up big time the last few months since the split. I agree with some of the other posts, I expect PayPal to get stricter about items being sold that they process in the future.

Why? It's all about risk. Tighten the risk fewer the sales. Eb I agree they lightened up big time because they have to show investors that they have real progress now that they are alone without PP's profits boosting the way they look on paper.

I was reading on eBay forums over the past couple years about how eBay flipped a switch around this time of the year then flip it back on so we see a sudden dramatic surge in sales all of a sudden all through Christmas.
Do you really believe this?

Do you really believe this? | No.
Why would ebay want less revenue the remainder of the year?
Also, MOST big box stores do 80% of profit fourth quarter.

The first three weeks of November are historically slow for me. I plan my fall vacations this month for this reason.

Declining sales necessitates new research of products and adjustment of listings/competition handling

I think its still early, give it about a week or so, things will pick up.
Plus, not sure where you guys are, but the weather is still decent here so "cabin fever" hasn't quite set in yet. Once we start getting some snow, things will pick up haha.

And speaking of weather I'm also wondering about that.
it's sunnier than last year here in fact it's around 50F and goes down to 30f at night and I wonder if that plays a role and people wanna be outside as much as they can while it lasts, thus no online buying.

With smartphones buyers now have the ability to make a purchase wherever they are with their phones . So it's not like they need to be in their house on a desktop anymore

I'm in USA right now. DMshark said something about weather doesn't play a role in online sales.

I'm running 8 stealth accounts at the moment, like everyone else on here my sales have been dwindling for the past couple of months. It usually picks up for me around December, I'm not a huge eBay seller though. I sell laptops, tablets, cell phones, stuff like that. Usually the lower end electronics I get I'll sell on my eBay Stealth accounts and the higher end stuff goes to my Amazon account. I frankly don't trust eBay at all, now with PayPal branching off onto its own I'm sure it will only get harder to sell on eBay. If you guys aren't banned from Amazon, I'd highly advise you to start building up your sellers account. It's always a good thing to put your sales across many different platforms if possible. Are people getting away with doing stealth on Amazon?
And please excuse my english/grammar!

The rise of Amazon is also the decline of ebay. Plus, Amazon touts Black Friday so much that people are holding on...
Even my church that bought ebay in the past is now a prime member and loves the free 2 day shipping....
Even more crazy is that Amazon sells some thing so low that many suppliers cant even compete. I can get some things pre-sale cheaper on Amazon then with supplier. Amazon has deals directly with most companies and have no need for middle man.
