Default rep closed case without approval - venting

I just had this prick open close a case in the buyers favor because I hurt his feelings.



So I sold a item to a buyer, he leaves positive feedback so I figured all was gravy. 1 week later he opens a return and I of course had the wrong address on file (which is 100% my fault) and the buyer shipped it to the wrong address.

Well it got sent back to him and that was on the 7th. I called in to see what they want me to do because I didn't want to refund him, he keep the jeans OR have the case close and I get a defect.

Well........

I got very mad when the person I spoke with told me my only options were to refund him, or try to communicate with the buyer. He said I get treated the same way as someone with below standard even though im TRS & Powerseller. That pissed me off so I said somethings and he was like "im just trying to be nice, if I wanted to I can close this case now blah blah blah"...

I told him he couldn't because I didn't ask him to and hung up. What happens next? "buyer calls to escalate case hold on" ....

So I call back and explain everything and the rep actually granted me the defect removed, and my money back.

I swear ebay reps get me so mad....

I almost can't call them anymore. I can't handle their stupidity. They act like they know what they are doing but because I'm stealth I KNOW their policy more than most reps do. And we all know accounts do get treated differently....

Venting/rant. Didn't re-read this so it might make absolutely 0 sense. haha

Wow just got a message from the rep saying she couldn't file for an appeal because its pending but she will personally do it herself tomorrow at the start of her shift!

I got the worst of ebay and the best all in one day, go figure.

WOW.You are so luck!!!!!!in my experience,when buyers ask rep to step in,when case is on hold for 5 days,we can do nothing but issue a full refund without asking buyer to return item,or ebay rep will refund buyers instead of us.

He must of put something in the notes saying he was going to close the case or that I was rude because after she pulled the notes up from what he said about a minute later she told me I'd get the appeal granted.

Its 100% too because she's MANUALLY doing it like he MANUALLY forced the escalation. I guess the point of this thread is....

Keep calm and carry on. Don't yell at reps because they can do WHATEVER they want. I got lucky that she believed me and took the time to review what he said...and hes stupid for adding any notes to the case.

He probably makes like what 10-14 dollars a hour if that. I can make what he makes in an entire week in one day. Even talking about it still pissing me off.

This is what happens when you put a clipboard in the hands of someone who has no idea of what power IS, much less how to use it. I call it "Clipboard Syndrome". PayPal reps might not make much money, but they CAN make you suffer and they KNOW it. So, you better damn well pray that their girlfriend didn't dump them last night or YOU will suffer the consequences!

never yell, always be polite, you get different outcomes from different attitudes...what do I care anyway as long as I get what I want...anyway they earn less than I pay my cleaner.......
