Opinions on my plan

My long term goal is to be selling high volume smartphones (excess of $100k/month turnover per account). My ultimate goal being to not get flagged or asked for docs at any point within the lifeline of each account.

Will be purchasing 3 $500 accounts and start selling very low risk items on each of them (crap around the house/ dollar store items etc.)
By the second month I will begin slowly selling phone accessories like usb cables.
By the third month (90 day mark) I will begin S L O W L Y introducing 1-2 phones.
By the fourth month 4-10 phones. ($1-2k value)
By the fifth month 20-30. ($4-5k value)
By the sixth month 50-70. ($7-10k value)
Etc.

It must be Groundhog day.....again.

Turning over $100k+ a month on 3 accounts each without ever being asked for docs....

Good luck with that one:lol:

The point is you HAVE to expect to produce docs at some point in a stealth life.

Even if you sell little crappy $1 or $5 items, if you sell enough then you should expect it to happen.

Re: Opinions on my plan

For the US you going to need to look at EINs

Getting to 100k a month would be better split over 6/7 accounts and then you can get away without ever getting a doc request

You would then need 6/7 EINs and 6/7 bank account, but that is all perfectly doable

You can avoid it if you have enough accounts and stay below the limits.

I didn't say you can't. I said you need to be prepared just in case. As we all know docs can be requested at any point.

Has anyone had success with docs getting approved by ebay?

Its invoices are you most likely to be asked for by PayPal

You can just use your real invoices for that showing the address used for the stealth PayPal

JamesNorth,
I get asked for invoice, utility bill and drivers license from ebay.

Re: Opinions on my plan

You can get asked for other things yes, but invoices are the most common if the account is run correctly.

An EIN is going to be needed if you do anywhere near that volume (they can request this on actual $$ traded and future projection of $$)

If you get asked for other documents like that then send over someone with a purple name a message and they will be able to guide you

Groundhogs day is right.

Docs are ALWAYS required stealth or not on volume accounts if you dont take years to grow them selling the same exact categories during that time.

You are going to be required by IRS law to provide tax info well before 200-20K for each account.

Yankee,
what exactly do you mean when you say:
"if you dont take years to grow them selling the same exact categories during that time"

Sell your phones from day one and grow it so slowly that they never request invoices.

Invoice request is almost guaranteed to happen when you sell the safe items and switch to phones. Category changes and price changes from your "normal" sales will trigger docs request from ebay or paypal.

I suggest selling the phones from the begging with a mix of other things if you want an account to not ask for invoices.

To throw the cat amongst the pigeons (because I am out of coffee to drink), you need to consider this....

paypal will ask you for TAX info on the accounts because of projected sales.

Im so confused...everywhere and everything I have read about stealth says to never start off selling phones thats a sure fire way to get the account banned right away??

Phones is one of the hardest things to sell without problems. Sell right away BUT slowly with a mix of other items might work. I can tell you for sure, selling 10-20 things over two months and then mixing in phones will cause a problem. Maybe 120 days later but adding in the most safe phones right away would be my approach.

May aswell get some EINs and give it a go, good luck though lol.
Phones are high risk. Also a issue selling items with such a low profit % on stealth accounts, need huge turnover to make decent money like you said

So you actually DO recommend starting of selling 1-2 phones immediately with some other similiar items like charges usb cables etc?

You say maybe 120 days later....does that mean selling non related items then after 120 days slowly introducing phones?
If so, which one of these two do you recommend more strongly?
Thanks Yankee

My approach would be to add one in the first month. The LEAST risky model. Add tracking ASAP, wait to get feedback and then add another. The next month of selling step it up if not problems come up.

You might want to try both approaches though.

Selling cheaper and unrelated items and then adding a few phones at say day 60 or even 88 most likely will cause a request for invoices. Especially after September 1st. It really messed me up last fall. I will find a link to the thread.

Here is a thread from last fall. I got my selling privileges back a couple days before Christmas.

Thanks Yankee.

So you would recommend selling 1 phone the first month, then 2 the second etc?
Or as soon as getting positive feedback from the first phone sale in the first month, just sell another one right away?

What do you think about this:

I will first purchase a $500 account and try selling phones right off the bat as a "trial," and see if I get any requests for paperwork.
If I don't, then I will just purchase a couple more backups of $500 accounts and do the same things, BUT if I do get invoice requests from the first account, then I will try introducing them slowly on the other $500 accounts.

Based off whichever approach works, I will then purchase a $25k limit account and apply it to that account. In other words the $500 accounts will be like trial accounts to see which method works.

All in all..if fabricated docs DO actually pass....then all of this is really for nothing because I can just send made up docs and dont need to really worry about any of this.

Sorry for the long post, but I really appreciate it Yankee.
Thanks.

Re: Opinions on my plan

Yes! You are going to have to experiment.

Sometimes you can "get away" with auctions easier than fixed price listings. Much more likely actually but not every item is profitable with auctions and it sounds like phones could be one of those.
