Ergo, they stick to 9 to 5 because it is safe.

My other half is wonderful in that he wants to help, but I can't let him. He hasn't got the eye for detail that I have, I wouldn't want to spend my time getting frustrated with him and making him feel like he'd done something wrong.

I decided a long time ago it's not worth me expanding to the point of hiring staff or helpers, I'd actually lose money and become a manager rather than a creator which I never want to happen, being management sucks.

This sounds like me haha, I employed my brother part time but I also have an eye for small details and like things to be done exactly as I want them and he is the opposite. Its hard to try and not get frustrated but I'm trying my best

I've actually had someone I know tell me to 'Get a real job' (this person works in a fast food restaurant I should add), some people just have the mindset that the only type of job is 9-5 and anything else isn't real work. If only they knew..

We sorted that by having the brother Despatch Chief and bottle washer. (Not actually bottle washer ).

He does the packaging after payment. Suits him because he has a bevy of females in assorted Post Offices in the North West of the UK. He has an allowance for gifts to give his ladies....

Working to date as he is better kept away from customers. Lacks some basic polite skills, if you get my drift but we have few delivery issues.

haha this is my brothers job now too, packaging and buying the labels. Easy enough for him and he's 16 so doesn't mind working for a few £ an hour.

I know from my friends its a jealousy thing, I make more money than them and suffer much less stress, it bothered me occasionally when they implied I don't work hard but the bf has reassured everyone that I turn into a monster at peak sales times.

Yeah definitely a jealousy thing, but I mean I'm only just 21 and about to buy myself a range rover from money I've made on eBay, website etc. But apparently I sit around at home all day and do nothing

Thats beyond the point.

Anyone working 9 to 5 at that age would be working at McDonalds or Primark (UK guys know about this). They aren't in any position to be buying vehicles. The closest they get would be a battery operated Range Rover remotely controlled vehicle.

It's all a matter of view and it's just a passing inquiry on the status.

Range Rover is a wicked vehicle.

Are you serious?

Pretty much every person I know buys a car at age 16 in the USA. 18 At the absolute latest.

Haven't actually decided yet, went to a few Land Rover garages and had a look at both the new and used ones they had, the used ones were still new-ish and looked just as good.

Depends on the family and the person really, I have some friends who got their first car at 17/18, and I know some 30 year old's who still don't have a driving licence.

To be able to buy a Range Rover at 21 from self employed earnings is a fantastic achievement, it's really nice to see people who take the leap into the unknown and land with olympic gymnast style flair. I know too many people who hate their job or don't earn enough to live, and yet they think that the 9-5 is the only answer. It's a shame when someone can't see the cage they trap themselves in.

In the UK you can start learning to drive at 17 and most people if they even get a car at all will have their parents buy it for them as most people at that age are still in school and don't work yet. Most of my friends don't drive and the ones that do have cars that cost between £350-£1000. Minimum wage for my age and under in the UK is around £5.60 I think? Could be wrong but thats what most people are making an hour over here so its not great.

I didn't mean if they own a car, was being sarcastic. Was saying if they do drive, they drive cars which have low insurance costs + low fuel costs etc., basically motors that have a sole purpose of going from A to B, not worth bragging about.

I am full time as well. Incredibly efficient for what it is, but could be better.

There's an amount of self-discipline that is required and comes from it, which is something I most likely learned from my past experiences. Trial and error, never give up.
Part of being a successful person is failing and knowing when to move on and what works, essentially cutting your losses and gaining traction.

It may be hard work at times, but it is the only thing that can guarantee true freedom and job security. If I fail, it is by my own hand, not anyone elses..

I think everyone can agree with me on this one...

People who work 9 to 5 wake up with a frown.

People who are self employed (and successful) wake up with a smile when they see all their sales notifications from orders placed when they were asleep

Not going to lie, waking up to an MC999 is one sh*t start.

yes checking my emails every morning and seeing how many sales I made during the night is a great start to the day but there is nothing worse than seeing that dreaded email of suspension!

HEY EVERYONE! I love this post.
Yes I have worked from home using ebay and amazon for 7 years this month actually!

I did have a question, I am looking to expand FINALLY, and I do need help packing. My goal is to get up to 400 to 600 sales per week. My problem is finding someone I trust.
Main things are, Keep their mouths shut. I dont want them telling everyone and anyone what I do what I sell and that I have thousands worth of inventory in my apt.

Thats the other thing, keeping a healthy stock of inventory in my home, having someone come to the house to pack it...I would get nervous. It would be about $6k or more in my house at any given time and I really need to know I can trust and rely on anyone I hired.

MY QUESTION IS: For the sellers who have hired and have help, what are your tips and suggestions for finding someone that I can trust??
