New eBay with selling limited 0-0
 

Hello

I made new ebay and pp stealth accounts, I think I followed all stealth rules, however, it's been a week and my selling limit is 0. I'm not allowed to sell anything!!
This is my first stealth account! What could I be missing?
Could you guys help me figure this out?

Probably why. Overused and abused numbers are known to cause something like this to happen.

Would changing the phone number and calling them to ask for a higher limit solve the issue? or should I start over with a new account?

start again.

If you call in, you will need to pass database questions. If you can do that then by all means call in.

I would say you need to be very confident when you call in. Know exactly what your going to say. No muttering. No mmmm.... No excess thinking.

Well, I didn't use my real info, therefore, they will never find any info anywhere!!!
I made up a first and last name, they don't have my DL and I'm using VMB!

Sometimes IF you are a good speaker, confident and have very plausible reasons why you don't exist in public records you can pull a selling limit from these 0-0 accounts.

Plausible such as you are 18 years old and never owned a car, got a credit card or a job yet.

If they cannot find you in the public database they cannot ask you questions and you therefore fail that test automatically and are stuck with the 0/0 limits.

This seems to be one of the basics not covered in stealth book... I was feeling confident until I see posts like this. It seems the basics aren't covered in enough detail... It looks like I have a lot more forum reading to do

Just use a real phone number. Very easy fix.

I hear trac phones are the way to go. Would a new line on a family plan be just as good? Going to add it to my roommates plan, on verizon, so will be a totally new number, new provider, new cookies/ISP, and a unique phone number dedicated to one account.

I only use ebay mobile, so the plan is to add devices when needed when creating accounts, to get entirely new info, and full proof way to make sure no conflicting ip or cookies.

Well,
I created a new gmail, got a new VMB, created VM on Microsoft azure which comes with a dedicated ip address, on the VM created a new eBay account with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and used the VMB as my address, got a new Google Voice number for the same city of the VMB also the IP address is in the same area. Then created a new paypal used all same info, added a vanilla credit card, made few purchases got some positive feedback, then tried to list an item, that's when I knew about the 0-0 limit.

Did I miss something?

Faak. I hope you get it figured out... I was sure Id be good but a little worried myself. From what I read you should've gotten an actual phone number for each account??? Hopefully that's all it is, easy enough to correct.

Good advice all around from what I skimmed.

Bottom line: Google Voice CAN work, but you are REQUIRED to call in 95% of the time when using any free phone # service such as GV or any free # app.

As a rule of thumb, it's better to use a "real" phone #.

That said, you CAN use GV and just call eBay. You need all your info written down---your (phake) name, birthday, address, etc. WRITE IT DOWN! You need to say it when asked with ZERO hesitation! (It needs to sound natural!)

They won't be able to find you. All you need to do is make up an excuse as to why that's the case. Perhaps you're a New Yorker and you've never had a license. Maybe you're a recent immigrant from Spain or Mexico or China, and you just moved here for college on a temporary visa. Heck, maybe you're a Syrian refugee. Or perhaps you recently turned 18, and thus aren't in the system. Maybe you're a paranoid guy who watches too much "Preppers" and aren't in any government database because your dad is also loony. There are ENDLESS reasons why you might legitimately be un-locatable on their database. As long as they have no reason to suspect you're operating under an alias, you will be just fine.

Let me know how it goes. And if you get a no the first time, don't be afraid to call back. The reps don't generally keep notes about limit increases (unless one actually occurs, in which case it's auto-recorded in the system). So don't worry about messing up. You can always get a new GV # and try again.

Also, it always helps you have your PayPal account created, FULLY verified (including bank account and phone #, GV works fine for PayPal) and attached prior to calling. If they are iffy about giving you the increase, tell them the last eBay rep you spoke to said you get your PayPal verified and call back (it doesn't matter if you actually ever spoke to a rep before or not).

YES! If you want to sell and not waste time do not use google voice. Use a real phone number.

Thank you guys for all the helpful info! I'll try all the tips and let you guys know what happens.
At this point, would they ask for my SSN to confirm my identity? If they do, can I provide them with EIN instead even though my account is not a merchant account?

No ebay will not ask for it....They have no business having it seeing as they do not handle money.

For the future, paypal asks for the financial info to comply with IRS rules.

ebay does not.

EIN is a method to avoid SSN. It works for many.

And even if they did, you NEVER provide real info to eBay, unless perhaps it is a PO Box you haven't used before.

The whole point of "stealth" is to be undetectable as a previously banned user.

Can someone elaborate on how easy it is to add an EIN to PayPal? Is it used in PLACE of a SSN, where you can simply type it in its place... or do you have to call it in, explain you're a company, and give them your companys information in addition to your persomal information?


I have an EIN I never used before. I should have probably cancelled it, but I didn't.

I also have to decide if I want my EIN added to my existing name, or add the EIN to an all new account

You upgrade to business, You enter the EIN and business name and address. They will ask for the last four your your SS and you will enter the last four of your EIN in its place.

Then you press enter and move on with your life. :)
