Re: huge eBay Sales Drop???

I hope sellers start dropping off the platform. Less competition :)

You guys that are suffering, it may be time to look into a new niche. I'm basically selling all the same stuff as last year and I'm breaking sales records almost every month this year.

There are always grumblings - there are failures and there are successes. Buyer's choices also change.

My buyers have all been making the same choice - to buy from me.

Did you really say anything in that post rsot?

My sales plummeted in August 2015 from $4k per month to zero. I sold a little at Christmas but nothing like 2014. I stopped selling in Feb. 2016 because my views were non existent. At Mother's day this year I had some inventory and have sold about $1k which is not bad for me so I see that my views are up from a few to over 50 which is good for my items and reordered a little bit of inventory and see what shakes out. I should also say that I had to drastically lower my price.

Yeah buddy, you have a completely different issue to most other people on the thread. Seems like you need to go back to square one and start again. New niche, new product... :typing:

Good luck :thumb:

Don't see how it's a different issue? I started selling in 2010 and did great until eb changed to Cassini then went to zilch. Always had like a 100 views per item and then down to less than 10 and nobody watching. Now my views are above 50 and a few watchers and have started to sell again.

You're also in an extremely saturated market and you're trying to compete with Chinese factories who can ship their stuff for 1/10th of what you can. If I were you I'd take whatever you make off what you have now and start investing in new product lines. I always reinvest a portion of my profits in exploring new products/niches, that way if one market becomes unprofitable I can just switch my focus to something else.

Were talking about sudden/current issues. Your talking about past. Not to worry....

It's definitely something from ebay side as even new products are not selling as good as use to be

My eBay sales same for me. Maybe your accounts have been hit with too many violations?

Re: huge eBay Sales Drop???

It seems to have corresponded with the spring changes.... where they actually STOPPED counting the return rate, defect rate, etc and started 'only counting' cases closed without resolution. Those were what got me.. but like I told eBay.. obviously when you change one metric the other starts to change. Perhaps other sellers that used to be below you, for defect rate, etc, are now equal or above you? They must be taking longetivity, or something else into effect now.

Search placement is everything... now that I'm at the bottom I'm out of business. The ONLY thing I can do is be the low cost leader for every single product. So when people search 'sort by price' I'm on top.

Re: huge eBay Sales Drop???

It's the slowest part of the year for eBay + recent changes on their end which seem to be affecting a lot of sellers.

I'm sure they're getting a lot of heat.. let's see how long this last.

It's Spring so they do something else other than sit and buy. Then they see that buying is more fun so they come back. Back and forth till Winter.

That certainly would be lovely if true.....I guess you really don't notice or follow me. I believe the members who know me certainly would not agree with you.

By the way, how in your eyes are slow sales but good prices on auctions compared to the past months great? Rhetorical.

To be clear, lots of sales AND great prices would be great but it happens to be my slowest time of year seeing as I am in the Archery and Hunting industry. May and June is super slow. Slowest months of the year in my industry. In addition, sales are 60% off from last year and last year was 30% off from the year before. Th best report from the ATA(Archery Trade Association) shows a 30% decrease and the worst is that half of the manufacturers will not be in business three years from now.

Please don't pretend to know me when I have no idea who you are and I can only assume the same in return. :peace:

In a thread the other day I posted 2.4 million dollars in stale inventory that will be sold at a loss, so we decided to not sell those high dollar items at all hoping from brighter days.

I guess that is good or great too?? Just curious

I have noticed competition has lowered prices to the point everyone loses money on many things these days.

In one niche of higher dollar items $300-1500.00 items, unless you are willing to loose $15-100 per item, you will not sell anything. 2 million dollars of stale inventory waits for better and brighter days.

Cheaper stuff flys out the door still!

It was this thread. I guess hercules noticed it in this thread how good or great things are ALWAYS for me...

I realize how I am :deadhorse: but why say such a silly comment without even reading the thread the silly comment is about?
