Default Wireless printer setup for shipping labels

I am going to buy a wireless printer today at a great price to avoid public computers. From what I understand, it connects directly to the home router by Ethernet cable. Then, it is give a unique email address so I can print to it from anywhere in the country. I assume I will just generate the eBay label like normal... Then click 'send to email'.... And enter the printers email address?

The router is tied to my limited account... But I assume eBay will never see that as it's just firing off an email? (As opposed to linking my phone to the network, and linking to that router directly). Anyone have any experience and can confirm it will print so simply via the printers direct email address?

You can go one better. epson wf-2650 which I have. It has cloud printing to google chrome. Configure it to google chrome. Then on ya lappy wherever you are, just slect the google cloud print wf-2650 and it will print at home.

There is several other printers that have that feature,

That printer is only 75 at best buy and ink is 15 bucks on ebay

Thanks for the tip... I'd actually prefer to go the email route so long as it formats properly etc, and just prints whatever I send automatically. The main reason is I'm a 100% eBay mobile user from my iPhone... I will never log on to an actual pc. From my mobile app, the email label link is right on top and I could easily just type in the printers email. There are also some other reasons I won't bore you with, lol, but I had actually bought a new hp last month and had to return it due to various issues. I'm going old school and buying a used hp locally dirt cheap this time around, and not connecting it to a pc at all... Just the router.

Google chrome print will work with ipad and iphone as long as you have chrome installed. I was running around loving the ipad printing stuff up from my storage. That is until someone pissed me off and the ipad died lol

Not trying to persuade. Email is unreliable, this is reliable.

Print from anywhere in the country? Never heard of this before. Also wondering why in the world you'd want to do this and how that could possibly be useful to you?

I use a wireless printer. It connects to my home wifi wirelessly and I can basically print from any laptop or phone in the house that's running off of the same network. What I usually do to print my ebay labels is pay for the postage and then when i click on "print lablel" it opens a new web page with the label. I then copy that link and email it to myself. When I do that, I then open that email on my phone, open the link with the shipping label and then print it right off my phone. Works like a charm and nothing is linked to my stealth ebay or paypal.

I bought a brand new hp wireless printer from staples and couldn't get it to work with my Mac laptop, despite claiming to being compatible. No drivers would work, even the general non specific drivers tech support said to try when all else failed. Even if I could get it to work, that particular model had to be connected to my laptop at all times if i wanted to print wirelessly. Which would be ok as I know it would not link, but is still a slight inconvenience as I am fully mobile.. I haven't used my laptop in months.

I don't have the chrome browser on my iPhone, but could get it. However, I prefer to conduct all business from the app... It's how I've always done it and it works great for my needs. I assume you mean I'd have to login to eBay through chrome... And print directly from the chrome browser.

As for digimons suggestion, my home wireless network is tied to my limited account. I was told NEVER log into my eBay from my wireless network, so I will be doing all of this via 4g wireless cell service. I essentially have the exact opposite system in place... You're emailing it to yourself so you CAN print on your wireless network. I am avoiding connecting my cell phone my wireless network at all costs now that I know it will link me. Even if I switch to wifi and switch back to 4g, other members said the eBay app will send push notifications etc, so it will recognize my IP if I even try to connect to my home wifi when I'm not using the app.

I see the limitations of email though, if the printer doesn't print the label will be lost. Then Ill still have to reprint from my a public computer, since I won't use my limited laptop. I'll probably just leave the print window open, and ensure it prints.

I dont remember if I was printing from the app, probaly not. You shouldn't use the app anyway, because it can link accounts. They can see the imei/tele number of the phone/tablet if cellular and can cause link.

You really should be logging in from a browser. Ebay app really bad unless you its a one time use for one account and non cellular, wifi only.

But yes google chrome cloud print will work anywhere in the world. You could be a 1000 miles away and still send print jobs home.

Whole new device, new plan, new provider, new area code, new everything... Which is why I'm on this path now, and why email would be the simplest way for me. I invested a lot of time and money in getting this whole new non link able device going. I can not and will not connect to my home wifi anymore. Or use my old laptop for ANYTHING.

So if it will print and format properly, this is why emailing it directly to my printer is the way to go for me.

If your copying the link for a label and using on another device tied to another stealth account, that can cause a link. Those links are specific to that account only. And say you browse on it with a seperate device tied to another account, then instant link.

You can try it, but I think it would be unreliable. Cloud based printing is pretty much locked in. Even if your home network ip changes, google will still find it. And wont creat link as long as you not logged into chrome and ebay on ya home network

I do appreciate the tips, but I do believe the email route is the best for the system I already have in place. I don't want to change my whole system just to do something as easy as printing. The eBay mobile app has served me wonderfully for many years, I do excellent sales all while simply playing with my phone. That's why I bought a new device and plan... Even though I there were cheaper and easier ways to get back up and running. I can praise the mobile app all day, and tell about how it's positively effected my life, but that's a conversation for another day.

As to the original question, if anyone can confirm when printing by email.... That rhe printer will automatically spit out the entire contents of the email, with zero effort from me? I don't want to have to log into a computer to change or format anything. Nor do I want to confirm the print using a computer, or anything like that, my laptop won't even be used anymore. My question is simply if the printer should print the label automatically exactly as it was sent.

Ive been running one account 1 year on a single clean phone. Was on computer a few years before that. Now Im even logging into ppal and adding my device phone as trusted. 200%/faster easier using the app/phone route if you operate ONLY 1 ACCT.

And I print from my phone directly to my wireless printer via my hotspot network my phone creates. I select the 'save shipping label' and choose either 'save to' (if you use a 3rd party file explorer like es) and save it as PDF anywhere on my phones SD card. Other option I use is 'save to email' and I send the PDF label to myself (my eb email acct).

Then I'll sign out. More about this later..
After I signed out the app I then turn on my phones hotspot. My printer is already setup to connect to my phones hotspot every time the hotspot is turned on. You know the rest. Labels are printed correct without issues.

The reason o log out is cellular network IP always and will change at any time your phone is in a sleep state / no network activity or while traveling around. I don't know if this can put your account at risk. Haven't looked into it. But EB sends your phone live alerts while your logged in so why wouldn't they see an IP change? I don't know.

Also, I check and log every IP before logging in. And I do it very fast using google sheets. I simply copied the IP spreadsheet from my computers spreadsheet software to my phones SD card.

Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk

Good to hear from another mobile user... Maybe I'm just hooked on my phone, but I also find it about 200% faster. From what I understand, what you mentioned wouldn't put your account at risk if it is an actual info account.. Because you can call in if needed, with your confirmed phone number, and explain any issues they may have with you. (Besides, something like 80% of users use mobile now, so they're pretty used to it).

I never had any problems on my previous actual info account from cellular network ip changes... And left it logged in 2 years, and two or three different phones. If it's a real info account, or a solid built stealth that appears 100% legit, I don't foresee any problems. I was never even asked to confirm any info or anything in the 2 years.

I've not been linked nor had any problems so far.
