Buyer request (resolution) refund or ship - what is safe?

What is the preferred way, the safe way so to not damage my account / dsr rating..

Buyers eb request is to refund. Emailed buyer direcltyand asked what buyer wanted buyer said to go ahead and ship the items..if not refund.

Few days ago emailed buyer offering free extras and a nice partial refund when items get shipped. Wasnt able to meet the ship date i promised and am waiting on the inventory still.

Reminded buyer and informed was doing best i can and that he didnt have to go through eb and ruin my reputation in doing so.

With so much going on im at a loss for the best way to handle this so to not ruin my eb acct.

Just be open / honest with him regarding an accurate ship/arrival time frame

If its too long he will probably want a refund. I personally try to avoid stringing customers along if there is an inventory issue. I just refund / offer them a partial discount on it once its in hand
