You read the thread right through then. ebooks are seen as FB manipulation. Do what vicvelcro says & send it on a CD, ie a physical item

Seems to me like the way to get quick feedback of the 5 star variety is to enter into a cartel with others who are in the same position!

Not talking about 1 cent e-books but real physical items which are small and cheap and fit in with your stock. Lets say collectables like postcards or baseball cards, key rings, stickers, etc. Make the minimum price 1 dollar. People buy from you and you buy from them. You can even pay via Paypal to make it look good. Doesnt matter which country buyer and seller are in. In fact the more you are in different geographical areas the better. I send you 1 dollar. You send me one dollar. And a week later we give each other 5 star fb. Who is to ever say this was not a "genuine" transaction?

And if one of the parties has a number of IDs to spread it about a bit so much the better.

This is what I am thinking ....

I like the way you think. How come you never buy my baseball cards?

I'd like to get my feedback up right away so I can sell Buy It Now. I have found sellers selling positive feedback, cds not ebooks. Will this work? Or will EB recognize it immediately as manipulation and flag me?

Ebay will recognize it if you buy an assload. But if you only buy 3 or 5 spread out over a week, it should be good.

Make that a 10 day period. Double check your seller AND I mean double check.Be very thorough in who you choose

Changes to the feedback system coming in next month (October 1) will make it a whole lot easier to get quick feedback legitimately to build up a new ID whether as buyer or seller. In multiple transactions each sale item will count separately for feedback score purposes even if the transactions take place at the same time.

Finding small cheap accessories to the main items you sell is great advice. Sell mobiles/cellphones? Also sell sims, phone charms, etc. Sell computers? Also sell cables and small peripharals.

If you sell "collectables" you can probably get off with almost anything (sports cards, paper ephemera, etc) since there is no limit to what people will collect.

Then no one can call it fb manipulation.

i don't think that will cause a probelm, because ebay also has a program that leaves postive feedback automatically when postive feedback is given.

My low cost items i sell to start my accounts are usually under $5 and dont get holds. It works out b/c they are small and lightweight and I can ship them first class with the money i made from the sale. They are all hot items and I can sell 100 in like a week. I honestly don't care about feedback b/c after about 50 are sold I have around 30-35 feedbacks and holds are gone and I can bring on the high priced items.

I have to admit to having bought a (very small) number of ebooks and wallpaper etc to start off a new buying ID. But mostly I stick to small craft items or ephemera or things that I can actually use like sticky tape, pens, cheap reading glasses, etc. Even if I have bought just for the +ve I always wait a few days before leaving fb to give time for the item to "arrive".

#30 In my experience it is sellers who use the automatic fb programs and not buyers with new ID names.

I dont use the automatic fb thingy myself as a seller because I want to be able to give appropriate fb. Would I want to give a +ve to someone then find out later they are the buyer from hell and I have no way to comment on the transaction? I may not be able to leave a neg but I can leave something like "Sorry all the items I sent you were lost in the mail"

Any other options?

So wait.. if you've got a new eBay account and you start selling items? Once people paid for the items it takes 21 days to get to your Paypal account or it takes 21 days before you can withdraw that money from Paypal to your bank account??

(never sold on eBay before..)

^^^^ the 21 day hold is on your funds within paypal, meaning you cannot withdraw it out of paypal and they hold it. Generally though from my experience with it, as soon as held payments receive positive feedback from your customer, the held amount is released and you can withdraw to bank account.
