Selling .99$ eBooks considered feedback manipulation?

If i sell a 99 cent ebook on ebay on an account thats about 2 months old be considered feedback manipulation? Will i get suspended for this?

If you sell too many you could, I have before but now I sell 1 ebook per account for $1.00 at BIN with 10 available and never have any problems, only when I listed the same ebook several times I ran into problems.

is the key to also offering a CD in the listing?

I used/refurbished electronics but would like to use this ebook thing to help keep my DSR ratings high.

Yeah you need to list it as an ebook cd, that doesn't mean you need to ship the cd, for a buck most don't care if they get a cd unless they're just real strict, picky people which are few and far between.

I was accidentally able to sell 6 1cent auctions of a digital picture, not even an ebook just a random picture I found on google. I also bought 6 1cent auctions, random digital pictures as well.

Within 3 days 2 of the users who were selling these pictures became "No longer registered users" and I got a warning for selling them as well as feedback manipulation.

This all happened about a month ago when I first started all this and before I knew buying and selling these digital or 1cent auctions were not a good idea at all! Also, if you're trying to raise feedback for better or more sales, don't waste your time. Even with 0 feedback people will still buy your items if the auctions look professional and you mean business.

You mean manipulate FB to earn acceptable DSRs?

That's not such a good idea. ebay will be on the watch for these tricks. They change parameters every policy change....

I'd suggest thinking of selling something associated with your main items if possible

ebay WANTS to push sellers into offering FREE postage on all their listings.

This has been coming for a while now. Now I HATE offering free postage and to pack, prepare and post items costs me money.

However already noticing the effect that charging for postage can have on the detailed seller ratings is making me consider the options.

Plus what's good about it is a larger percentage of sellers will switch to free shipping so the customers will get used to the higher starting prices on auctions and just except the higher BIN prices. If you ship fast five stars are inevitable, but this will take time IMO.

What I do to get feedback is sell old LP records from the 70's to now. Mostly Metal and top pop bands. start them at .99. Look for lots that average out to be 1.00 with shipping then list them. You should see what you get for nice ones!

But, if you start an item listing low and it gets more hits and bids that will push it further to the top of search results.

I used to do mainly 3 and 5 day listings. Now I am thinking of doing more 10.

I suppose in theory if an item is up for 10 days it will potentially get more hits, and possibly more bids pushing it to the top of search for the last couple of important days.

What do you think? Is the science that simple?

I believe that to Neo. I tried the 10 day with something I had trouble selling and my hit count was three times as much as the 7 day but my ending price was still weak. They have to like the item too. But with a hot item my ending price was a third more on the 10 day. The price to list ratio looks good. I think the urge builds up on repeat watchers, but thats all theory with no data.

This seems like a good thread for the following questions. Thank you everyone who has posted--I have learned so much from this forum! Alright, experts, your opinions please:

(1) I don't see how buying feedback is valuable; I want to sell for feedback. Do you think I can sell a $2 item BIN in a quantity of 10 without getting busted for feedback manipulation? How many times? And are these volume thresholds in terms of listings or sales? Specifically, if I list this quantity of 10 but actually sell 0, does eBay immediately forget about it like it never happened, or will they hold it against me?

(2) I want to then sell very high-priced items using classified ads, which of course do not integrate with the ebay dashboard selling tracking, etc. Is ebay going to respond to this as "We don't track this, therefore we don't see this, therefore how could we care" or is this going to come to their attention as me selling high-priced items? I have noticed that some people use classified ads with 1 cent listing prices that have nothing to do with the ad.

For the first part, what kind of items you are selling will very likely determine if ebay will bust you for feedback manipulation. Since you are selling $2 items, you should be in the clear.
