I mentioned earlier ebay told me that if you leave a non paying bidder a positive with "non paying bidder" that the non payer gets their strike removed because you left them positive.

eBay's feedback policy doesn't say that can be removed at all. Nor does it's feedback abuse policy say that.

jonas, i said that the feedback will be removed if you leave a negative comment in a positive feedback. and we as the seller could get suspended for leaving these kind of feedbacks.

Profane, vulgar, obscene, or racist language or adult material

Surely the best thing is, is not to leave them any feedback? By leaving them feedback all you are doing is increasing their trust score.

I don't think leaving any kind of comment is going to work, people won't read it and think well, I'm not going to deal with them...

I read today in an interview with that ebay dude who makes ebay global rules that its true. However, they won't disappear until June.

eBay claimed they wouldn't ruin feedback until July and NARU'd users would get their feedback auto-removed in mid-may.

Well eBay ruined feedback early and still won't remove NARU'd user feedbacks.

Yes my friends, Ebay specifically states that "Negative" comments in a positive feedback will be removed by Ebay......And they are doing it. All that has to happen is for the buyer to report it to Ebay....

I would not try leaving negative comments.....Ebay might frown and get you suspended....

I have a non paying bidder on my hands and not sure if I should bother filing a dispute because I don't want them to leave me negative feedback.

It's been 12 days and they are ignoring my emails!

If they don't answer me ever, I file it straight away. If the buyer has set out to neg you, they will harass you and make you think if you do something they won't neg you, but in the end it never was in your control and they will stll neg you.

I read that alot of sellers are just writing "NEG" or "NEGATIVE" in the feedback area. You can look at these "false positives" on toolhaus.

I agree. I decided I won't leave feedback for my customers. I thought if I leave feedback first they will leave feedback for me too. But they don't care anymore. 99% of my buyers don't leave feedback for me. It doesn't matter if I send out feedback reminders or anything. But I'm afraid to send out feedback reminders because I saw a few seller received negative feedback because buyer thought that seller is too aggressive and pushy about getting feedback. They can't get any negative feedback so they just don't care.

Nearly all of my buyers leave feedback, and in the past 1,000 or so transactions, I've only received 1 neg. I will only ever leave a customer positive fb if they were especially polite, or gave an extra thankyou, had a sense of humour, or something of the kind.

For the bog standard customers, I never leave fb.

Spotted this on a blog in the states. seems some sellers have been so enraged at not being able to leave FB for bad buyers they have resorted to using the straight FB form to say bad things. hahaha



A PowerSeller said his account was suspended for leaving buyers negative comments in his positive feedback ratings for the buyers. Now that sellers are unable to leave negative (or neutral) feedback ratings, some have been leaving positive ratings for their buyers but using the comment field to describe a negative experience.


Sellers may be surprised to hear that such activity could result in suspension rather than simple feedback removal. eBay does prohibit "Negative statements that conflict with a positive rating," but includes it under "Circumstances when eBay will consider removing Feedback ratings and/or comments."

Leaving negative statements that conflict with a positive rating does not seem to fall under the criteria of "undermining the Feedback system" by using practices such as Feedback Extortion Feedback Manipulation Feedback in Seller Terms and Conditions, all of which could result in account suspension.

The seller who wrote to me said he had twice left a negative comment in a positive feedback rating (one was a deadbeat), and he believes he is under a 72 hour suspension, but believes all of his listings are "gone for good."
