You might want to consult Modee about removing feedback.

Ah Junour again. Yeah I've seen him before a lot. He seems more likely to remove feedback than others.

mariedraper, that is why many countries have a policy of not giving into terrorists. Feedback on ebay for sellers is just pure terrorism at this point.

If you file a mutual withdrawl, a hostile buyer can just click no and you don't even get your final value fees back. If you file mutual withdrawls instead of unpaid strikes to please most of your non pay bidders, eBay gives you automatic letters saying you're doing fee avoidance like they think the mutual withdraws are done in collusion either to save fees with paying customers or get fees back when shilling on yourself and keep the shills alive.

I love your vile streak.

Modee, sounds like that squeaky wheel just got kicked to the curb!
No grease for her!

Modee, so how did you get the buyer suspended? Did you impersonate them (which I assume is hard as you'd have to get a foreign IP that is not a known proxy), file a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ report, or what?

You said you contacted your credit card processor but from my experience, that processor can't do anything and it's the customer's bank who decides and I've found personally registered mail with their signature and address as proof is actually not proof for the bank whenever I've tried. Plus half the time I don't get those return receipts back.

Why didn't you just explain to the buyer that the item is insured by private insurance and it's X many days (usually insurance companies always make it 45 days for foreign shipments). Just simply explain that after so many days we'll refund you if it doesn't come. And explain how they can do a chargeback for much longer as foreign so there's no reason to wait. It's actually 1 year, but probably not good to tell them they have that long.

Modee you didn't say if you put any tracking on it or not. But basically I've had foreign shipments lost or delayed and I always just explain that delays are usually because of customs holding it, stealing it, etc. and it's insured so you'll get money back. I've never had bad feedback because of it, either.

The only thing that sets her apart is the ebay not received dispute. Buyers that file those are just abusive since they do not help the buyer at all if they didn't pay by paypal. I find bad buyers always close those to give innocent sellers a bad mark and ebay ignores all emails I've ever sent them to appeal the strike, just sending random unrelated form letters or no reason at all back for 3 months in response to persistant mails until the point is moot. Oh and she also can go in there and still give you a strike even while suspended.

Quasi_Mojo 09-30-2008 12:49 PM

Modee, out of curiosity, what was the seller's feedback history?

Jonas 10-01-2008 10:05 PM

Normally even if suspended, you go to my ebay and you're blocked from most areas, but still can go into the dispute console.

Modee said: "I got her completely locked out of her EBAY account."

Modee, did you hijack her account?

Quasi_Mojo 10-02-2008 01:22 AM

Yeah, Modee - give us all your secrets for free! ;)

aspkin 12-11-2008 05:22 PM

Lol... Modee you have a lot of free time on your hands...

Nice story though, I like it.

and then today...I notice that the buyer (a POWER SELLER) is suspended.

I had a person who sells some of the same products I do bid on me with several different accounts, all selling the same stuff I do, but also buying other stuff on them, and they all bid to harass me in different ways. Only one of them paid so I didn't notice they have the same address right away as that address is burried in the end of auction emails that I archive and don't read unless I need to.

Well the first left me lots of bad feedback and then I noticed lots of them having the same address. I'd been reporting them separately to eBay for harassment, but then after having seen them all together, I reported them all to eBay saying they were the same person bidding to harass and I did the same report as a reason to remove feedback.

Well, for 3 days nothing. Then suddenly they all get suspended. So I quickly do unpaid disputes on them all to protect my feedback. The suspension only lasted for 12-24 hours, which was the fastest unsuspension I've ever seen and I assume they must have some other high level power seller accounts somewhere as the ones that bid on me only sold about 20 items each. To top it off, these nonpayers got their unpaid strikes reversed, too.

So their suspension isn't always permanent. Usually it lasts for either a week or 30 days, but 12-24 hours was very short and this person (same address but lots of different first and last names) must have done something really dirty to get unsuspended so fast.

Modee, you are a hero! May I ask if this applies for all kind of feedback left? I mean, how could you convince eBay to remove a negative like this: "I thought this DVD was PAL - not NTSC" even if the auction clearly states "PAL"? I think that not all feedback applies for removal and that there must be at least a clue on there that has something to do with Feedback Abuse. I really hope to be wrong, though... Could you please guide me on this via this forum or PM? Thanks a lot!

Modee, I'm curious, how long do the accounts stay suspended?
