Please give us a solution |
| TotallyDisgusted | 04-12-2008 08:46 AM | Simon to Pay Seller's Fees Purchased a $20.00 simon gift account for pp reasons. Worked out well & limit is now removed from pp.
Can I use this simon gift account to pay for some of my seller's fees even though "receiver" name on Simon does not match eb name? Do they see that or it doesn't matter? |
| aspkin | 04-12-2008 02:09 PM | Yes, this is a very old thread, anything past 6 months you can basically consider obsolete. |
| ebayaintstupid | 04-12-2008 05:39 PM | I have done extensive experimentation, old paypal accounts are dead!! I tried every possible permutation of reusing my existing Paypal accounts. Every one results in suspension of any associated EBAY account.
Note, that Paypal will let you use the accounts all you want for anything BUT EBAY. You can use it for web sales from any other source just fine. Paypal will not interfere.
But any EBAY account associated with any Paypal account that was associated with a prior suspended EBAY account will be linked and suspended. The reasoning varies in the suspension notification depending on how you linked the account, but the result is always the same.
The Paypal accounts are cross linked in any way they can link them. Common bank accounts, common mailing addresses, common credit cards, etc. So, if you have multiple Paypal accounts, and Paypal makes a link (this happened to me), not only will your accounts in the first Paypal account come down, all EBAY accounts associated with all linked Paypal accounts will come down.
Don't give Paypal any grief. Any complaint and they will alert EBAY about your account. This is what happened to me. All my accounts came down after I asserted my dissatisfaction with a judgment against me on a Paypal complaint. Within one day of sending my complaint, all my accounts came down. All intertwined across those linked Paypal accounts. Accounts not associated with Paypal were untouched.
Do NOT use your paypal accounts for new EBAY accounts period if they have ever been linked to any suspended EBAY account. |
| tvaughan08 | 04-12-2008 09:05 PM | paying ebay fees?? since when did we start doing that! hahahaha |
| ebayaintstupid | 04-12-2008 10:21 PM | Well, considering you can't get new accounts.. anymore without having paypal and EBAY on your side, I wouldn't screw aroudn with the fees anymore. Creating accounts is not as easy as it was a year ago. They are suspending almost everything.
Point is, though, do not link old paypal accounts with new EBAY accounts or suspension awaits you.
And even the hero of ripping off EBAY, modee, is saying he pays his fees like a good boy now. So don't get too cocky if you have a working account. |

I am convinced complaining to paypal is what got me linked and suspended. I was trying to pay my cell phone bill with my paypal debit card and paypal kept rejecting the charge even though there was more than enough in the account, but took $5.00 out of my paypal balance. You are supposed to get cash back for using the card not cash taken away so I complained to paypal about this and within 24 hours my ebay account was gone. I had been using the account to buy for over a year and had been
selling for around 5-6 months without even a blip.
If you use paypal and use your debit card regularly watch your balance carefully. After this happened I noticed that at least $1 disappeared from my account every time I used the card. On each transaction there is NO record of a $1 fee being deducted. The money just disappears with no record of it in your account activity. |
| umaga | 04-15-2008 10:53 PM | Paying ebay fees with Amex gift card lifting paypal limits?
i tried it and it says this card number is either invalid or incomplete, please try again
wtf? |
| aspkin | 04-16-2008 04:18 AM | AMEX Card? Isn't simon a visa card? |
| umaga | 04-16-2008 09:18 AM | mine says amex mine says amex |
| whome | 04-18-2008 03:15 PM | Got all four of my new accounts suspended today...all set up about a year ago. Common cause was surely my paypal account that had previously been associated with my previously suspended ebay account (I know Modee, I know).
Question: has anyone been successful in disputing ebay fees when paid with Simon giftcard? On my previous ebay account I know it was a breeze when disputing and recouping the ebay charges when I used my personal AMEX card but this is new territory. |
| jscan | 04-19-2008 05:57 AM | my good acc has a linked paypal acc, my fees are paid via that, thats my good acc tho |
| MasterChief | 04-20-2008 10:58 AM | Bank Fees Question Just need clarification on this issue.
If one is planning not to pay ebay fees (and of course not use that particular ebay account again). eBay will of course still try to get the fees from ones bank account. And that in turn will lead to a charge of $20-40 for NSF (Not sufficient funds), right?
So am I correct in thinking that if youre not planning to pay the fees - First thing you need to do is close down that bank account? |
| aspkin | 04-20-2008 06:13 PM | If you select that's the payment eBay will get their fees from, they'll go for it. And if you don't have the funds in the account, it depends what type of fees your bank has for you, you could be charged. I usually set a prepaid card as the payment form though, so this has never happened to me. |

Some banks will go ahead and pay PP from an empty account and then expect you to make it good. Also, the last time I closed an account the banker told me it would only be closed 30 days after the last activity - not immediately!
Aspkin is right that it is better to use a card. But on the last EB account I opened (about ten days ago) EB required a bank account - didn't give the card option. |
| Killed by Ebay | 04-22-2008 11:05 AM | I tried making payment on some seller fees today with a $100 Visa Gift Card from walgreens. The Gift2Go version and it was declined, is eBay no longer taking these cards? |
| TotallyDisgusted | 04-22-2008 12:37 PM | Just paid my Seller's Fees yesterday (4/21) using a Amex GC...no problems. 2-weeks ago, I used a VanillaVisa & also paid seller's fees...no problems there either. |
| shawnsz | 04-22-2008 05:53 PM | I just set up 3 ebay sellers accounts and 3 paypal accounts with gift2go cards. No problems. |
| Killed by Ebay | 04-22-2008 09:19 PM | Ya i found out what my problem was lol. I registered the card on my ebay account and they charged me $1 i guess for verfication. So i was trying to pay $100 and it kept on getting declined because all i had was $99 on the card. Does eBay give me that $1 Back ?? |

| Yes, they will hold it for up to 5 days and then they should release it. They have always released my $1 fees |
| groundhog | 04-23-2008 03:44 PM | Paying ebay fees with Amex gift card My new account was suspended after 2 months. It could be because I was using old paypal account (with new email address). But also I paid ebay fees 2 days before that using Amex gift card which has no real name on it.
Could this (Amex gift card) be a reason to flag my account? |
| Killed by Ebay | 04-23-2008 04:47 PM | No, it was because of the paypal account |
| GreenBean | 04-23-2008 04:53 PM | Rats groundhog, that's right. you MUST remember that ebay to paypal link, OK.
So every ebay account has its own little paypal account. Only changing the email address keeps that link.
I recommend that you buy eBay Stealth - Suspended eBay and Paypal Account Guide:D
That is the BEST for you to work out how to use ebay. Otherwise, you will be back with another suspended account. Good Luck.:D |
| TotallyDisgusted | 04-23-2008 04:58 PM | I have a question about paying seller's fees that has never been clear w/me. I presently pay using a vanilla/visa, simon, and/or amex gc...all w/no problems. My question is why not pay seller's fees w/pp account? If eb account goes down, so does the pp account. So...why not pay seller's fees w/pp...it doesn't matter...they all go down together. Right? |
| gilimad | 04-25-2008 03:28 PM | I've purchased a $100 Visa Gift2Go Giftcard, and It is not applying to my paypal. It's been over an hour, and is has not worked, any help pleasE? |
| Killed by Ebay | 04-25-2008 04:12 PM | Try the Amex, I used a Visa G2go card 2 days ago for ebay and it worked fine, surprised it didnt work for paypal |
| shawnsz | 04-25-2008 07:42 PM | When you use it at paypal what does it tell you? I used 2 Gift2Go cards today to open 2 ebay accounts and 2 paypal accounts. I don't see why it won't work for you. But then again there are a lot of cards that work for one and doesn't work for another. |
| groundhog | 05-05-2008 04:43 PM | Is it safe to pay ebay fees with Amex gift card? I have a couple Amex gift cards that I bought in Kmart.
Is it safe to pay ebay fees with them? They don't have any names on it.
Will it raise a red flag? |
Use different credit card for ebay fees I have a gift card with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information on file. Now I have to make a payment but can't use the gift card as there is a zero balance. So I asked my friend to make payment with his credit card. It does not work. Is that a new ebay thing that payment must be made with the same credit card that is placed on file? Does anybody know? |

| Lisa B | 05-13-2008 01:01 PM | How many times can I use the one time payment method to pay my fees? My virtual credit card was tapped out back in January so I started using the one time payment option in eBay to pay my seller fees with my money in my PayPal account.
I have paid my fees using this so called "one time" payment option for the last 3 months.
How many times is a Seller allowed to use their GayPal account to make a one time payment to pay their Seller fees?
Anyone know?
Thanks |
| Lisa B | 05-22-2008 10:04 AM | How many times can a Seller use the one-time payment using PayPal to pay their fees How many times can a Seller use the one-time payment using PayPal to pay their eBay fees?
I really don't like creating new posts but I asked this same question in a different post and nobody answered me.
Thanks! |
| ebayhateluv | 05-24-2008 12:29 AM | HI: yes thats correct, but be careful not to link directly..
I have been printing out the coupon, sending cashiers checks, last 2 months.. |
| GreenBean | 05-24-2008 12:36 AM | I go to three different post offices and buy a money order or a bopo cardfor the fees.
Always make sure that everything is unlinked. |
| Killed by Ebay | 05-25-2008 05:13 PM | I used a Amex Gift card yesterday to use as a one time payment method. the thing is i had to use 2 of them, the first time it accepted the payment but when i went to go make another payment it told me that "they are not accepting any further payments at this time for me to try again later".
What does that mean? I made the initial payment at like 1030pm est last night then i tried to pay the rest of my fees off at 1030pm, 6am this morning and at 5pm again this afternoon and i got the same not accepting payments at this time message everytime, What does this mean???? |
| Lisa B | 05-27-2008 10:50 AM | Thanks Everyone. |
| HateEbay | 06-03-2008 04:25 PM | Can I set up an automatic payment to pay Ebay fees with a checking account Is it possible to pay Ebay fees from automatic payment with my newly open checking account which bears my real name. Does Ebay make two small deposits into it to verify it as Paypal does? Does it verify the name of account holder also?
I don't want to buy Simmon Card every now and then to pay Ebay fees b/c it is pretty costly: $2 for each unloadable gift account. I don't want to buy a gift account loaded with a lot of money in advance either.
Any help is really appreciated. |
| GreenBean | 06-03-2008 05:15 PM | For my ebay accounts, I allow NO way at all for ebay to access my funds to pay fees. I certainly would not consider using a checking account in case there were insufficient funds when ebay tried to get these fees. A dishonor fee would be far more than the cost of a simons or other card. Using any vcc gives you control over your business with ebay. Should an ebay account get suspended, you have to deal with the hassle of that and it can be that the last thing you remember to do is cnxl the automatic fees payment.
Using vcc's works well for me.;) I control ebay not them controlling me. |
| HateEbay | 06-03-2008 05:24 PM | GreenBean,
Thank you for the info. By the way, how much money do you usually put on the gift card. To be honest, I don't sell too much on Ebay to load the gift card with a lot of money in advance to avoid paying $2 for every gift account purchase.
In addition, each time I buy a Simmon gift account, I put all ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information too to get it match with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address on Ebay. Can I still use this gift account to buy on other websites in addition to paying ebay fees? Other than Simon giftaccount, do you recommend any other that might be cheaper? Thanks a lot. |
| aspkin | 06-03-2008 08:06 PM | Simon is one of the best cards to use for this type of stuff. Two dollars isn't a lot of money for peace of mind. I've used my cards to buy other things then just eBay or Paypal, they work fine everywhere. I even hear you can buy a Simon card with a Simon card. Don't doubt the power of Simon. :) | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:17 PM. | |
