sorry we should have moved this to PM..were clear now..i'll PM you

Thanks for the explanation.

mantisinc 03-09-2008 08:11 AM

I would MUCH rather pay fees, than open up new accounts. In fact I would never even question the fact of doing that.

twdell 03-09-2008 08:12 AM

yeah to me i would rather pay the fees, and keep an account as long as possible and build up feedback. you usually get higher bids if you have more feedback. it's too much of a hassle getting new checking accounts, po boxes, etc.....

f1br3opt1c 03-09-2008 09:02 AM

my problems for my usa account is solved. I found a seller who would sell me gift cards only for an extra $10 for any amount. Lets say i buy a $300 i would have to only pay $310, and the card can be reloadable. Its valid for 2 years.

BTW, now back to my Malaysian account. I cant use that vcc to pay because its a USA card. Can anyone confirm if i can pay two accounts with same credit card (without getting them linked) or pay with a credit card that is on a suspended ebay & paypal account?

thelizardking 03-09-2008 02:41 PM

Yeah the feedback thing is true, so I keep my accounts as long as possible...but I think they will let you go something like 60 days on an unpaid balance? Modee probably knows the answer to that one.

sycore 03-09-2008 09:35 PM

I keep my one ebay account with the highest feedback current and pay the fees. Then i just open new ones and go for 2-3 months and stiff them on the fees. It adds up to quite a bit of money, over my 10 years probably around $20,000

ebayhateluv 03-09-2008 10:32 PM

HI, I think its a Personal preference.. But not paying the fees, kinda seals your fate,,right??
I hate starting from 0 fb... :))

Throb-n-Rod 03-11-2008 09:19 AM

Ebayhateluv how long can a person expect to keep an account up. With an account started up in say 2008 if everything was done right would it last weeks, months, years? How many accounts would you reccomend someone keeping. I seen someone say an account a day 30-31 a month this seams like a bit much unless you just had a hard time keeping accounts up. However I do understand that you would need to create new accounts on a regular basis so they can mature build feedback become seller accounts etc without drawing attention but I would think you wouldnt need to create any more per week than you would expect to loose in any given week.

Good point. I have a credit card on file for my e-bay account to pay my fees. 1% back on sometimes $2000 a month adds up quite a bit =)

However, that just got me thinking... you can pay with a credit card in two ways right? One way is directly having the Credit Card on file on ebay, or you can pay with paypal and use credit card through paypal right?

Can they link your paypal account with your e-bay account because they noticed that your credit card is the same on both?

Double check but ive boughten these and used it to pay my ebay fees.

Simon Property Group and what you want is a gift account, just send it to "someone" with a name thats made up or the one you use with your account, you should be fine!

I Guess,, average person only really needs 2 accts, 1 buying, 1 selling..
But if youre selling many items, or the same items, over and over again, as in my case, you need multiple accts, just to keep the public happy, keep em able to have another outlet to buy from, as some people will make sarcastic remarks about your shipping, etc..
SO- to avoid loosing the sale alltogether---
You have 2,3,4 accts selling your items, THEY WILL buy from 1 of them..

Paying fees with the same CC for multiple EB accounts

Is is actually safe to pay eBay fees using the same "real" credit card for one-time payments? I've been paying my fees this way for almost 1 year don't think I've lost a single account because of it. Does anyone else pay their fees this way?

rond100 03-16-2008 12:44 PM

You will be ok as long as non of your accounts encounter any issues. Your account are now linked. If one goes down they will all go down. At this point you can continue use the same card but if you open a new account use a new card and all new information.

It is not recommended they use any info from an old account on a new account.

ebayhateluv 03-16-2008 02:30 PM

Yes, correct--they log the cc number.. It is now in their files..

stepia 03-16-2008 05:03 PM

They transfer you to the Paypal website where you enter your credit card information without logging into your Paypal. This is how eBay was receiving my payments. When you receive Paypal payments, all you can see is your buyer's email and name. So wouldn't it be the same in the case of paying to eBay? If you use the same credit card, but enter random names and email addresses every time, could it work or do you think Paypal and and eBay actually share and log information to use it for linking or anything else in this specific case?

GreenBean 03-16-2008 05:47 PM

Absolutely not worth the risk. ebay/paypal link, simple as that.

Gift Card or Bank...what's the difference?

In setting-up for seller's fees, what is the difference if you give Ebay a gift card # (visa/vanilla) or you give them your bank info.?

When you get snagged on Ebay, the whole ship has to go down too. Ebay account will be ng, pp account will be ng...so why not give them the bank account that was used to verify pp with?

Am I missing something or it does it make a difference?

Hope I am being clear in what I am asking...in other words...
If your ebay account may get suspended, why bother giving them a Card # for sellers fees because if that ebay account goes down, so does the PP account & the bank that you used to verify PP with. Why waste a card # on sellers fees?

ebayhateluv 03-19-2008 05:15 PM

Hi- I think you're asking is it ok to give ebay your personal bank acct info? Some folks don't want eb or pp into their accts...also if all of your info doesn't match- it won't work..You can regulate it with the gift cards..Also- I pay them with multiple gift cards several times/month..to stay ahead and not let the fees back up on me... Btw-even after I had a pp acct go down...I've used that gift card up on eb fees...they haven't caught it yet..its been 3-4 months now...

aspkin 03-19-2008 05:21 PM

If eBay has your banking info they can continue to charge you after you're suspended, if just a giftcard they're limited to what you have on the card. That's the difference.

thelizardking 03-19-2008 05:24 PM

Yeah they will dip into it if you owe them anything, best to use one time payments w/ gift cards..

Thank-you...that is what I was missing. Will give them cc instead of bank.

Paying eBay Fees Through PayPal

Hey all,

I know that paypal cannot get the actual name on your legit bank account, they only verify the numbers, etc.

But I had something that stumped me. If I am going to use PayPal to pay my ebay fees and I never have any money in it and I have my bank account set as the "backup" on paypal, when they withdrawal the money from my legit US bank account, will they be able to get my actual info???

I know for a fact that they can't when they put money in (i.e. those 2 initial deposits), but can they get that info when they take money out of your legit bank account?

Any ideas??

thelizardking 03-21-2008 02:14 PM

Ive done it with the bank account but it was a couple years ago. I used to use my moms bank account, well it was my account but it was in my moms name (different first & last name, and different address) and never had a problem..

MrJosh 03-21-2008 02:24 PM

so then theres no way they would be able to link that to my suspended account then? my bank acct has my actual name (that is suspended on ebay/paypal) and my new paypal acct had an alias. So if the new pp act takes money out of my legit bank account (the acct numbe was never used before), then there is no way they can tie the two together?

TotallyDisgusted 03-21-2008 02:32 PM

I have the same thing going on:

Have a new pp account w/⊗⊗⊗⊗ info. Have a new bank account w/real info. (of course) which is backing-up the pp account. As a small tester on new Ebay account, I made a small purchase. Like yourself, I have no funds in my pp account, so I transferred small amount from bank account to pp.

I do not believe they have access to real name on bank account. If they did, then we would all be nailed when do that small deposit-thing .11 & .06 in our bank accounts for verification.

thelizardking 03-21-2008 02:41 PM

Yeah I don't see it being a problem..but if you try it let us know how it goes.

Does EBAY charge fees to PayPal if credit card or bank account will not work for them

I gave it a good 4 day read around here, and could not come up with information needed. :( Perhaps someone can answer or link me to what I need to know. :)

Obviously my eBay account is suspended, and of course, I'm not paying them fees. I had it setup to automatically charge bank account, I closed that. Then they charged my card, I filed chargeback.

Now question is, would they charge PayPal?

paralax 03-23-2008 04:01 PM

hello
hello hello

Jonas 03-23-2008 05:32 PM

Ebay says 6 months. In my experience, they don't do it right away and haven't done it to me but I haven't waited more than a month.

Jonas 03-23-2008 05:43 PM

I tried some gift2go cards. The ones at the store for $100 cost the same as allaccess, which is $5.95. I remember them cheaper on their website but I don't want to have to wait 2 weeks for cards in the mail. Gift2go also has this "register your card" and then it puts in the name and address, but I'm not sure if you can change what's registered as I have not tried.

ebayhateluv 03-23-2008 07:28 PM

HI:
You Have to email their customer service to change the info.. I tried 3 weeks ago--sent them an email told them i moved, still no response...

aspkin 03-24-2008 03:16 PM

I haven't seen or heard of eBay doing this before...

mantisinc 03-24-2008 03:21 PM

Well, you can't pay fees with a limited account, so I doubt they will take fees from it.

sycore 03-24-2008 06:45 PM

My paypal accounts are linked to $1 gift card and opened/the immediately close ⊗⊗⊗⊗ bank account. Never give them any real info, just keep hammering away at them. They might close 5 or 10 accounts on you, but eventually something will get by them.

Jonas 03-24-2008 10:29 PM

To clarify what I said, on an ebay help document ebay stated that after 6 months ebay would charge unpaid balances to your paypal account.

LongMan 03-25-2008 06:13 AM

Jonas, I assume that is only for linked paypal accounts.

paralax 03-25-2008 07:10 AM

Yep, thanks Jonas, thanks aspkin, thatks all.

Now I know what I need to do. I need to close down my old (linked) PayPal account, which was open since 2003. It is not limited or anything, and I'm still using it to buy things. But I don't want eBay charge me. Thus it has to go.

BUT,

Right away I'm opening a new account.

Paying Fees

Do you think paying 3 ebay account fee's with one credit card will cause my accounts to be linked? I dont want to get all 3 suspended if one of them does.

Please advise.

Slavaja 03-27-2008 07:39 AM

well if you account gets suspended all of them will. you should use one credit card for one ebay account only to stay on the safe side

aspkin 03-27-2008 08:19 AM

Emmm, yes paying with the same card will 100% link your accounts.
