| aspkin | 12-24-2007 07:58 PM | eBay fees Forum - Best Ways to Pay, Avoiding Linking on Multiple Accounts When it's time to pay your eBay fees, there is the right way and the wrong way. When you pay your fees with your Paypal account, your eBay and Paypal accounts become linked. Is it better to pay by Money order? Use a prepaid card, or a regular credit card?

| sycore | 12-28-2007 04:13 PM | Aspkin, it that true even for the one time paypal payments? I have good luck paying a few dollars here and there in one time payments to get a new account going. |
| ebayisanecessaryevil | 12-31-2007 05:32 PM | I think it's best to use the link to making a one time payment with your credit card, where you enter the credit card number directly on ebay. It's a little tricky to get to, if you don't know what to look for, since ebay makes multiple attempts to get you to use the paypal pages instead.
This way no paypal account is required. I buy multiple giftcards and make payments that way. |
| ebayhateluv | 12-31-2007 07:27 PM | YES-- VERY TRUE.. they do make it near impossible to pay other than paypal-- but just keep choosing diff options- i think its at the bottom, says like another method-- because if you just choose make a one time pyt-goes directly to paypal... Just used gift card today to pay one..(took over 5 mins--finally got to right screen) |
| koalawash | 12-31-2007 08:40 PM | Which gift card did you use to pay? I tried paying ebay fees with a giftcard once but it didn't work. Now I just pull a Modee and never pay my fees at all! :D |
| ebayhateluv | 12-31-2007 09:55 PM | HI- I used a $100.00 Vanilla Visa |
| vers0 | 01-03-2008 06:54 PM | you have to leave at least 1.00 on card for authorization. |
| thelizardking | 01-06-2008 01:03 PM | Changing Card On Ebay For Fees When the money runs out of a gift card used for fees what should I do? Add a different card or make one time Paypal payment for the fees? What happens if you add a new card? Will EB want you to verify anything like phone #? |
| rond100 | 01-06-2008 03:50 PM | Unless you are accepting paypal payments on the eBay account I would recommend using a new card to pay the fees.
Once a card on the account has been declined by eBay because the fees are too large. You have to pay the fees and add a new card to pay future fees to continue to list on ebay |
| f1br3opt1c | 01-27-2008 09:59 AM | Ebay Fees Okay, i bought a USA account and linked it to a Paypal malaysian account under my girlfriends name with the right info under the paypal account. Now the USA account was suspended and i was thinking if i should pay it?
Will find for my gf in the future through the paypal info and take lawyers action and stuff? |
| ebayhateluv | 01-27-2008 10:15 AM | HI- I Do NOT Believe you bought the Ebay acct from this Forum, as we would have warned you of the pitfalls first..
-- As for your dilemma, if you are in Milayasia, dont know if the usa newbie accts will work at all for you? Maybe an older one, 1-2 yrs old?
--Paypal most likely gave you a whole laundry list of items they want to see? |
| f1br3opt1c | 01-27-2008 11:02 AM | hi the account was fine, it was a 3year account. I got suspended for other reasons.
My main question is about eBay fee's as the eBay is linked to the paypal account with my girlfriend's information.
Do i have to pay the fee's? If i don't will they check which paypal the eBay account was linked to and come after my girlfriend? |
| ebayhateluv | 01-27-2008 02:29 PM | Its possible, If its an older acct- Why dont you try to save it? No hope to bring it back? |
| f1br3opt1c | 01-28-2008 05:34 AM | I bought that usa account that i dont have any info about it Sir, so that ebay account cant be saved. So should i sitll pay the fees or what? |
| powerbid | 01-28-2008 12:16 PM | i always recommend paying back ebay fees... if you dont they will freeze your paypal account for sure... that way u will lose paypal account too and if it was with original info means trouble... i never hold back paying ebay fees.. why would u want to invite trouble.. |

| f1br3opt1c | 01-29-2008 11:29 AM | Alrite thanks for the advice, ill pay it then :) just waiting for my invoice |
| thelizardking | 02-04-2008 10:25 PM | One Time Payments Ive read this is the best way to pay your fees. I used a giftcard to open up for fees. The funds are now gone. What I want to know is what happens if you use Paypal for One Time payment? And what happens if they go to charge me and it gets declined?
The Paypal im using is a new one and is exclusive to one ebay account.
I know I can use a credit/debit card to make one time payment, but im interested in knowing pros/cons of using Paypal for a one time payment. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-04-2008 10:28 PM | HI-Personally, "i" wouldnt do it... with their new linking etc..
i.e. what if your new ebay ac goes down...now that pp is useless...
I go and buy several of the $100 Gift cards to pay the fees |
| aspkin | 02-05-2008 01:41 AM | If you're using that Paypal 'exclusive' for eBay and it's already linked. You might as well use it to pay your fees. But a giftcard will work the same. |
| Jonas | 02-05-2008 05:34 AM | exclusive?? |
| ivegotinfo | 02-14-2008 12:12 AM | i pay with paypal as i use paypal with each of my accounts. if you're using a merchant account then you should be using reloadable gift card cc's |
| thelizardking | 02-14-2008 03:09 AM | Yeah, since I first posted this ive used Paypal for one time payments with no problems. So it seems you can pay your fees with Paypal if you use the 'one Paypal per ebay account method'.
Another tip: As a rule I print shipping labels and make a payment on my fees everytime before I withdraw.
Maybe set up automatic payment? |
| twdell | 02-14-2008 09:46 AM | it's still okay to use a "real" credit card to make ebay payments, right? just as long as it was never used for any other banned account. |
| ebaykilla | 02-14-2008 02:01 PM | One Time Check Account to Pay eBay fees I have set up a checking account with my bank to do "one-time" payments on eGay. I only fund the account when I want to pay eGay fees and then do a "one time" payment. Afetrwards the account only has about $10. I never authorize eGay to take automatic payments from this account. I leave my gift card in place for that purpose. If/when I get suspended I will close the account. Works like a charm for me...just passing along the info. |
| thelizardking | 02-14-2008 03:21 PM | yeah as long as the registered info, mainly address and zipcode, and card number are different. |
| aspkin | 02-15-2008 08:42 AM | That's one way to do it. |
| mantisinc | 02-15-2008 10:52 AM | That's what I do :)
No doubt ebay will make it compulsory soon to link accounts though... |
| thelizardking | 02-15-2008 03:15 PM | I use Paypal one time payments. Gets the balance down before I withdraw. |

| thelizardking | 02-19-2008 03:53 PM | Question about fees and one time payments So I messed up and missed my date on the 15th for the fees. I always pay a one time payment on the 14th so they don't charge my card. The problem is the card I used to sign up with has no balance. When ebay goes to charge me and comes back denied what happens? Can I make a payment then and be ok? OR do they suspend me right away till I pay the fees? |
| koalawash | 02-19-2008 09:36 PM | Last time it happened to me they still gave me a chance to pay immediately with another credit card or Paypal account. I'm not sure if they do the same thing now. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-19-2008 09:55 PM | HI- usually been giving you at least 7 days...
I forgot about 1 acct a couple weeks ago, when i logged in , it was 3 days late, i then paid with 3 diff $100 gift cards, it owuld only take 3 in 1 day, I then went back the next day, and used 2 more..
>> UNbelievably, they are LESS worried about fees, than about "abusing" ???
BTW--you may wanna PM MOdee , I believe he has a chart of some sort, with pay dates/cancel dates ? he may be able to give u some tips on ebay deadlines, for fees?
He def. knows the ropes... :) |
| GreenBean | 02-19-2008 11:42 PM | I had a late payment like you said and contacted them to give alternative for the one time only. Did a bit of b***t paid up and was advised to read the Help questions. Anyhow can't you blame the bank because it was President's W/E
and they did a stuff up.... and Meg sat on the floor.... and.... |
| jameswa29 | 02-20-2008 07:18 AM | How to pay your ebay fees?? From peoples expreinces what is the best way to pay your ebay fees when you have been suspended and have setup new ebay/paypal accounts using different address details???? |
| powerbid | 02-20-2008 10:47 AM | the best way is to click pay one time fees then go ahead to pay fees via paypal.. but donot login to your paypal account.. just pay using credit card method without signing in.. this has worked for me on 3 accounts which are not associated with paypal account.. i have been using one credit card to pay on all these three.. no problem wat so ever..
i have learnt from my previous mistake.. and got suspended.. paid via ebay system and not paypal within hours i was suspended.. |
| thelizardking | 02-20-2008 11:32 AM | If you are using a new Paypal account you can use Paypal one time payment. I use it every time. It helps getting the balance down and I do it before I withdraw. Ebay and PP like that. |
| Chris Hanson | 02-20-2008 02:49 PM | I use giftcards to pay one time payment |
| aspkin | 02-20-2008 02:51 PM | It really depends. If you're already linked to Paypal then Paypal will work.
But you can also pay with a giftcard, prepaid card, or even a money order. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:38 AM. | |
