Activity: 0% Longevity: 89% | | Ebay suspended me, linked to another suspended user
Hi,
wanted to see if anyone can help me with this. I have been selling for a couple years now, powerseller, selling non vero items, 99.99 percent feedback rating, over 2000 postive feedback, average 4.8 in each DSR category.
I logged onto my ebay today (this is my personal account with all real info, i didn't need to make any account) and got the dreaded suspension message. It said i was linked to another suspended user and they gave me the user id.
That user id was my roommate that sold some stuff, and had their DSR rating go too low, or some negative/neut feedback problems....he had emailed ebay but it seems like they didn't want to do anything, he was suspended about a year ago or so. He was using cable internet with IE,firefox. I was using AOL but using the same internet connection (my ip address would be different then his with this method).
Anyways, how do i get this resolved?? This is my source of income, and each day i'm out, i'm losing money.
please help.....i will have to do the eBay Stealth way if there is no option, but i have worked hard to build my feedback and also it's my own personal info'd account.

i think not of the IP but maybe of the cookies or flash cookies you get linked.
Never trust eBay.

Thats weird, It could be various reasons. Did your friend recently log on to his account? Did you use his computer? Ebay usually will link accounts a lot sooner, maybe they waited until you did the smallest thing wrong.

I'm sorry to say buy no I don't think you will get it back. Its possible, but not very likely. Ebay doesn't care if its two different people, if your at the same address and one account gets suspended, be ready for them all to be suspended.
I know how hard it is, but if I were you I'd forget about this account and start making some stealth accounts.

you'll have to start over with a new address... I found it to be a pain, but being that you had 9 months without problems gave me hope. I'm up selling again, while I figure out the phone situation.

you will need to start a new account. consider your account to be done. don't stress over an account loss. start back up and get back on your feet...we all been there before. feedback is overrated. don't sweat that in starting over. i sell with zero feedback almost as much as i do with 100's.

Hi all, I just signed up here today since I was just suspended. My situation is similar to nobody999. I've read some threads about suspension and reinstatement, it seems that nobody has ever got reinstated :(
Has anybody ever been reinstated?

if you had the same address as your room mate...you are done. that's enuf reason for them to keep you suspended in eGay's eyes.

I would also look into having the same internet connection as your roommate. AOL browsers are not safe and could generate your real IP to Ebay. Re: AOL, only dial up seems to be on the safe side. Less than $10 a month......

i am 99% sure a letter or email is not going to work. you guys shared the same address and internet. they specifically say that they will not do biz with you if you even get linked to a banned id. it doesn't matter that it was not your account. you lived with the guy..that's enuf to make the suspension stick. i've been down this road...time to move on.

ok. kinda good news....they finally replied back and told me to fax them a reinstatement form, and include my copy of drivers license, bank statement, utility bill, which is not a problem because this account is in my real name/address.
how likely is it that i'll get reinstated after i fax the the info? Quote:

if your address matches your boy's suspended address, chances are, you will remain suspended.

any people experience with the reinstatement form and how many days after you fax it do you get some kind of reply/decision?

many of us have filled reinstatement form and not been reinstated, form means nothing, if your story is correct you have a chance of reinstement, especially if your products are markedly different, wait and see, if doesnt happen, make new accounts.

that's eGay's sick way of torture....give you hope for 7 to 10 days only to kick you in the nuts yet again. i don't care if you sold used clothes and he sold car parts...they don't want to risk having you list for your suspended roommate down the line.
there are too many links between you guys and your sending your info that matches his just screws you over even further.
read the forums, this is standard eGay procedure to suspend roommates, brother sister, husband wife, etc etc. one bad apple spoils the bunch...

hi, got my account back today. i faxed them the reinstatement form along with other identification last week, but after a week of no response, i called their 800#....i explained to the operator about the non-acknowledgement of my fax being received....he transfered me to another dept. (i assume trust and safety dept). i explained the situation, he told me hold on....he came back and said instead of faxing, he was going to ask me some personal public information to verify my identity, the questions were:
1. what state did i register my drivers license...he then gave me 4 choices.
2. what month is my birthdate...4 choices
3. what subdivision i lived in...again 4 choices...and it even included d. none of the above....this question is kinda tricky because one of the choices he gave me was similar to the one i live in, BUT NOT EXACTLY the same name...so i told him d. none of the above.
and another question i can't remember....
so, if you have a real account with real information, these are the type of question that they might ask when you call.
my account is back, i'm happy!
