Default Can an eBay user (not buyer) report me to Paypal?

I received this weird threatening message on eBay that I suspect is from a competitor:

Bla bla bla... I represent the company of the products you sell since I work there.
To delete your lists with our products in which you sell them, I must send a report to Ebay.
If you don’t do this and set this lot again, I will have to complain to VERO and PayPal that you are committing fraud.
And I will demand a lock on your account.
I hope for your understanding.

I suspect this is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ for a number of reasons, and I'm pretty sure the item isn't a VeRO product. But the part that got me worried is where he mentions Paypal. As an Ebay user, he should only be able to report me to Ebay and maximum they can take down my listings, but they aren't allowed to disclose the identity of another user. My question is can he really report me to Paypal through eBay? (he hasn't bought any of my items)

If that is an exact copy of the message you got it sounds ⊗⊗⊗⊗.
The grammar is all kinds of messed up,
I assume you know who the user is who sent this to you - check their feedback and join date and see if theres anything behind them. I doubt theres anything there.

The English is crap, you should report this message to eBay. Then ignore and block his eBay ID.

Actually I wouldn't report it to ebay on the offchance that they might look at your listings just for kicks...

Why would someone writte a mail like that?
Also if he represents the company and is part of the VERO programm he can contact ebay directly and they will remove it

Thanks for the replies.
He has joined 7 years ago and has no selling feedback. I can see one of his "following members" has sold the same products as me until few months ago, now it says is no longer a registered user. He also has a follower that is selling similar products.
But the thing that confirms he is a scammer, is that he has left 3 positive feedback messages to another seller.. who is selling the same product I sell... for half the price! He is probably leaving feedback to himself. It took me a while to find it because he has changed his nickname, and I can see only the first and last letter, but it's definitely him.

The problem now is he is after me. His reports can still damage me. Is there something I can do to get out of this? and can he still report me to Paypal?

I could bring this to ebay but it would be a little difficult to explain the feedback thing and there's also the risk of a review, as mentioned above

thanks for the help, I checked it but I didn't see a solution. Our problems are also a little different.
I know for a fact now he is selling the same item for half the price. Both his accounts (the one he sent the message and the one he's selling from) are from Delaware USA, and they are linked through the feedback. He has bought from himself and then left feedback to himself. I highly doubt he can make a VeRO account or complaint like in your case. He is definitely a scammer, no connection with the company at all. And a greedy one aswell, he's sold 5 times more than I have.

I'm thinking about presenting this to eBay but I'm afraid it will turn against me.
I don't want to reply to him but another way could be to let him know that I know what he's doing.
Does anyone have any suggestions how should I act in this case?

Ignore it...just ignore.
Do not email him or report to Ebay. That'll just open up a can of worms.
It's a scammer... he'll go away if you just ignore him.

I want to ignore it but I'm afraid they will remove my items because of his report. If I reported it to eBay, maybe they would discredit his report. He is doing a number violations, I have strong evidence of all this:

competitor threats with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ claims
lying about his identity
collision using different accounts, buying from himself

And also the company is not VeRO registered. Have you had cases like this personally?

These type of people don't just go away usually. Sometimes they do, but we just don't know if this one will or not.

The good thing about eBay now is they do something about bad actors at least a little bit more.

I reported it to eBay.

The problem is he has multiple accounts, even if eBay helps, he can just use another account. I think he must have already tried so hard with reports that he ended up sending that message out of desperation.
Thats why I think it would be a good idea to send him a message just to let him know I'm aware of what he is doing. I really don't want to contact him though.

I just don't understand his logic. I've been selling for years, suddenly he shows up out of nowhere, sells for half my price, 5 times more in volume, has copy pasted a listing that I personally created 3 years ago, reduces my sales dramatically, and then sends me a threat to remove my listings? Scammer and cocky, a combination at the highest ranks in the hierarchy levels of stupidity
