Default MC113 Account suspension

Hi guys,

I am hoping someone can shed some light as to why my 6 month old account may have been suspended indefinitely.

This was the message I received:

"We have reviewed the activity we have seen connected to your account. As a result, your account has been suspended because we believe this activity presents a risk to our eBay community. We do not make this decision lightly. Building a trusted marketplace where people around the world can buy and sell safely is our first priority.

This suspension is permanent and means that you will not be able to participate in any buying or selling activities on eBay. In addition, any other accounts that you own, or that are associated with this account, will also be suspended.

We regret the frustration or inconvenience this may cause you. However, there is no appeal for this decision".


I am baffled by the suspension as I have only sold around 5 items on there, all household low-risk items to build up feedback (I created this as a second stealth account- my first is still running). I did not buy/bid on anything though- could that be a mistake?

IP addresses were changed each time by tethering off my iphone mobile data and I kept a record of all logged IP addresses.

Account had 2 positive feedback with around 5-10 sales with no issues.

Really not sure what the issue was? I obviously went wrong somewhere but can't figure out how.

If the account suspended was a "private account" you may request ebay to provide a full copy of all data that it holds in relation to the suspended account. If you get the data, (that's a big if) it might help you know why.

I spoke to a representative on the live chat and they just told me that they considered my business selling practices a risk, which is the unusual thing as I had only sold items from around the house to gain feedback as a back up account. No reported issues either. They asked me a series of questions regarding what i was selling/buying, what I use the account for, if I have any other accounts. I'm thinking they may have linked it to a previously banned account somehow, i'm not sure

Likely means bad IP, bad data or linking of some sort.

I'm thinking now it may be because of the Ebay app which I use on my phone which is for my original account. There may be a link there?
