offcourse there is no source

this is my personal calculations :humble:

I Might be wrong about it so please dont take it seriously:coffee:

taking down each other ebay listings, competitor reporting feedbacks survival is hard for that long for just 1 account for 1 person

My personal made account and other seller's are in thousands alone
there were thousands of seller's on various platform cashing out thier ebay sales funds through paypal

I bet once a user land on aspkin thier hope is alive and he/she start digging into stealth

Aspkin also have very attractive stats
Overall visits per month 193470

every 2/10 seller is using someone else paypal, stealth or just a bank before Mp was implemented

25 percent of all eBay sellers are in Uk
28 percent of eBay sellers are in the US.

this is just for the information

There are 187 million eBay users worldwide.
The eBay app is used by 34.9 percent of all US mobile users.
16.4 percent of items sold on eBay fall in the “Electronics & Accessories” category, the top-selling category.
There are 1.7 billion listings on eBay.
$27.5 billion worth of goods were bought and sold on eBay’s marketplace platforms in Q1 2021.
More than 60 percent of eBay’s marketplace GMV involves a mobile touchpoint.
940,000 eBay sellers use the “Promoted Listings” feature on over 250 million listings.
71 percent of eBay purchases are shipped for free.
80 percent of goods sold on eBay are new.
28 percent of eBay sellers are in the US.

Dodgy statement to make without evidence

Do you think that buyers if they were unable to buy from stealth accounts would not buy from legit accounts?

Ebay/Etsy do NOT want stealth accounts on their sites (You wouldn't want burglars in your house would you?)

If a few legit accounts get canned along with 'dodgy' accounts they will live with that

There is no evidence of that

its same like Jeff Bezos is the richest person but in reality he is not

he is richest because of his declared money

there are many who are 10 times richest them him but cant declared thier assets Mostly operating in grey market e.g drug lords and they do not count on the list

Its same impossible to calculate the stealth users on ebay

20 percent was just a assumption

If we look at stealth as active verified accounts belonging to sellers who were permanently banned on a previous account... I don`t know if its 20% but its a whole hell of a lot higher then we`d suspect.

What do you base that on?

My own view is that since MP the number of stealth accounts has plumeted and, once again in my unqualified opinion, it is going to be less and less

I remember at the beginning of the pandemic people on here talking about opening scores of new accounts to sell face masks - impossible to do now

It isn't Ebay that is the big problem - it is adyen who because of KYC have access to data that Ebay could only dream about

For sure some people are finding a way through but it is telling that the number of accounts being sold has fallen away

I don't pretend to have any answers - this is just my observations and opinions

What?! All stealthers combined don't even sell as much as ONE of ebay's top sellers. I know we all want to feel good about ourselves, but we're just piss ants compared to the big guys.

The way the system works with Adyen is not exactly KYC goes in and KYC goes to Ebay. My company offers a CRM product with built in payments. We use Stripe Connect on the back end to route payouts and conduct KYC... If say a client signs up who ran afoul with Stripe Payments (different then Connect) in the past but signs up on our platform. Their KYC comes back clean. Their risk score might be bad but their KYC and info we'd need to file a correct 1099-K comes back clean so the system verifies them and the only alert is a risk score which we can chose to ignore or act on or not. Sellers from the Paypal days who got banned never gave their SSN info to Ebay. That was handled separately by Paypal (After 2015 they were completely separate). Most people in the USA for example can pass KYC using their middle name as their first name especially if they have more then one ID document (think Drivers License and passport or passport card)

Needs attention status: Any reason (usually, director name address mismatch), Address, Business name, TIN - Any reason, TIN - Missing, TIN - Mismatch

Without giving up all the secrets if the data given can be matched to the data received by the database pull in the categories above you'll pass KYC with no status alerts passed back to Ebay and Adyen's side is clean and compliant. At that point its up to Ebay (not Adyen) to try to match your info with a previously banned account. For people in the states there's a simple way to test what will pass and not pass via online banking systems at a smaller regional bank.

Even after initial document request. Ebay never had your docs in the Paypal days so if you've not been banned (and owe them money) already under MP then you'll still be good to go. Here:

This is an account used as a test, the name provided on that account was banned by Ebay during the Paypal days. The account was as usual restricted then reinstated in less then 24 hours during the bot ban and has not actually had a payout held. We'll do 9 or 10 sells a month on this account, as it will be attached to one of the shelf companies we'll have for sale.

As a matter of fact Ebay near the tools available to them directly to deal with stealth and KYC as say Shopify who uses Stripe Connect like we do but are also licensed as PSP and Payment Facilitators directly by Visa and Mastercard. Ebay has to rely completely on Adyen for those services... Understanding whats behind the bot bans and how to stay on their good side is fairly simple if you have a basic understanding how the back end works, and I just provided part of that to you guy so Merry Christmas.
