Sorry Sam - when you said "re take the photo" I assumed you couldn't have meant in a literal sense, and must have been meaning you retook the photo on the actual ID so something was changed. All makes sense now.. thanks for explaining in such details.

Unfortunately ALL my addresses on my credit history were delivery addresses on the account, so it looks like I can't make any more in my name unless I move house, despite having other ID's.

I do, but do you have a strategy to fight an MC224?


Not sure if I've mentioned but eBay have given me an option to upload another ID as an appeal. It's very odd since it implies the first ID would have to be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ etc and supports Hank's idea of them data collecting.

I noticed today I've been unbarred from requesting call backs so my current plan besides sorting out other accounts is: Request calls until I get a nice lady from the Irish call centre, they have been very good in the past. If that fails I plan to submit my birth certificate with a modified DOB, since there is no automated way to valid a certificate It's a final attempt as I can't see I have anything to lose in doing this.

My experience fighting them is a waste of time.

I put as little effort and double down on account creation when something like this happens.

You can change address on your online banking app I changed my address on nationwide online banking and Lloyds and the address I changed to appeared on clear score and credit karma and I’ve used that address for another account only small limits so only sold approx £300 on that account so not been asked for ID yet.

it is becoming too difficult just develop new accounts , you are not blacklisted automatically if suspended.blacklist is usually for people with serious violations , especially for copyright and fraud , possibly for performance issues too if lots of complaints were received and fraud is suspected

with all other issues there is a good chance you can just open new accounts

Did you change it to a family members address? Doesn't seem ideal to put a random address with your bank account but great to know it will pass MP validation.


I already tried and the account was suspended in about 40 minutes, didn't even open up a seller account.

So basically what happened Lloyds bank made a mistake with my address. I lost my bank card on holiday and requested a new one they sent the card to a wrong address.

My postman said to me I posted a letter for you down the road but I know you don’t live their and I knew it must of been my bank card called my bank and a different address was on the bank.

After browsing my credit reports I saw that address was on my credit report so created eBay account in that address and it’s worked so far no issues.

Thank you the stuff I have learnt and self taught myself to share with other people to help them with getting back on eBay makes me very happy.

Yes correct so I have changed bank address about 2 weeks ago to another address I lived at years ago it’s already appeared on credit karma I’m waiting for it to appear on clear score as I plan on using the info very soon for another account.

The account I have switched over from my brothers info to my own info my passport has passed for the second time.

I brought a cheap toy to sell on the account at the weekend for £15 sold it for £14 a couple of hours after listing it. The reason behind this is to now test the account which has been transferred over. The last thing I want to do is sell a £350 item for funds to be potentially suspended.

I changed bank account so my name could match my eBay account as well and VCC. This info should appear on my credit report in 3 days time to say they have verified my account and hopefully I can continue using the account with decent limits as well.

If you have more than one bank account do you have to change the address on all of them to update your credit report? how long does it take?

@Sam999 Any updates for your account please?I got the same issue.

My UK ebay account got MC011 restriction on 12th.March 2023.
Ebay asking for: invoices/bank statement/Driver License to ebay.
After upload these then ebay ask for addtional "proof of delivery", I wait until all the orders "deliveried" then reply that ebay message, then got "permantly restriction" message.

Not yet but I believe after 60-72 days it will release my funds.
Hopefully I can still get this account back.

Yes I got the money eventually after 90 days. I think the only time they won't pay out is if the identity check fails or if no first payment was yet made to a bank account.
