Court documents sent by email are nothing - it has to be via registered mail to be valid - this law company likes to sucker the ppl who get scared into paying up.

OP, lots of decent advice have been given in the thread - is the account in stealth name or your real info?

you can ignore private mail , this system does not work in the US , if it were in germany or austria I would be concerned but in the US you reply only if you receive official court docs and they are obliged to send you such docs because you have a right to defense , they can not take that right from you

of course they could issue a temporary injunction but all this costs money , I doubt you will have anything more than losing the account

we have the same thing in the UK , taking people to court is tremendously expensive , there are exceptions for small claims but with what you have it would probably cost tens of thousands of pounds

the court would need to send docs to you , the only thing that has happened so far is suspension of your ebay account as well as suspension of everybody else

you should not ignore if court sends something to you , any private mail does not matter

right now they are extorting sellers and trying to get hold of the frozen balances on ebay

you can abandon your account and it is good , I am sure there are people who would rather pay as their account is an important venue for them

eBay issued saying their mc999 was from a court order from the Chinese company and their lawyer. Is that a problem? How are their able to mc999 an account with eBay without eBay messaging with a listing warning like vero. Did their lawyer find a loophole?

All major civil demands from a law firm are sent through certified mail if they're important. Court motions are through an officer showing up at your door. DO NOT contact them. They're fishing.

even if we assume there are different rules from state to state , any court would still need to contact the both parties directly although I am sure they would not do it by email

for now they just got an injunction which allowed them to get all ebay accounts restricted. the next step will be extortion of money from the owners of these accounts

those that do not pay may (MAY) be taken to court but I am sure they will not do it as it costs a lot of money , it is easier to just get hundreds more sellers suspended , a part will always pay

taking someone to court here is risky , they would need to prove that it is you selling the items , that these items are indeed infringing their rights , how many items you sold and probably more. it is just not worth it , spending money on this and the defendant may turn out to be a poor sucker who does not have this money anyway. USA counts as rich country but the vast majority of the population does not even have savings apart from a few thousand dollars

if I were in their place I would just take the info from ebay how much money was frozen and depending on the amounts I would take those people to court where it is worth it , large sellers may indeed have tens of thousands of dollars on balance

Luckily I cleared my payout just in time. It’s at 0. Maybe they’ll just take the account. Ebay shouldn’t allow these things to happen. The company could’ve warned me. You’re supposed to sell something new at least bought in the USA on eBay. There shouldn’t be a problem. In that way eBay is wrong.

Do not reply to the emails - stop the activity, do not repeat - only action is needed if you get a registered letter in your real name mailed to you - unlikely to happen but you need to be aware
