| Sw489 | 01-15-2025 10:27 AM | Mc999 - Sherinian law I received an email from Sherinian law like the original poster where they said they are freezing my account. They want 250 for listing their item and 50,000 in damages in a recent court document they sent a few days ago. I thought this was spam, but I received a mc999 in my eBay email a few days ago. Is this case cause to worry or don’t reply and I lost my eBay account? I have no money in my payout, so if they freeze the account forever, it’s not that bad. |

Or you can ignore everything and see what happens.
Or you can respond and pay them what they ask and move on.
Three options really.
At the absolute worst you'll lose your ebay account, be thrown in jail with rapists and peadophiles.
At the absolute best you will learn from this and nothing will come of it.
There is no future in selling vero items. Plenty of money to be made just buying and selling normal everyday items or niche products, you just have to put in some time and effort to research. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 01-15-2025 11:06 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law do not reply , do not make any contact whatsoever
if you receive letters from them or any government organization by post (not email) deny you were ever selling it online
they can not tell anyway if it was you or someone pretending to be you. such investigations can only be done by law enforcement and in order for them to get involved you would need to have a sizeable counterfeiting operation there
live on , open new accounts and live happy. you can be glad you live in the USA where law enforcement works like swiss cheese. there was a guy from germany here recently who got a similar complaint from another company and subsequent criminal case with a home search , he has a real problem comparing to you |
| Sw489 | 01-15-2025 11:31 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law Where do they go from what was said in the recent court documents, what’s the timeline? What happens at the end? Do they just freeze the eBay account and take the payout? Or do they pursue the 50,000 for damages? |
| agent006140 | 01-15-2025 11:44 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law You should ask a lawyer,US is different from UK and EU.
Also I vaguely remember selling counterfeit by mail is NO NO for USPS. |

the account is definitely gone because these companies shut down accounts and expect you to get in contact with them so that a settlement could be negotiated , if you don't pay the account stays closed |

if you are not at fault, why does Ebay suspend your account and the lawyer sent you letter?
what were you selling? |

Do they ever pursue for that? |

in any case any contact must be avoided , if this should be pursued later you will still have an opportunity to take action , in most cases nothing happens |

| murdered_by_ebay | 01-16-2025 06:29 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law I suggest you test , write an email to them and tell them you do not want any problems , ask them what you need to do to make this problem go away |
| Sw489 | 01-16-2025 06:41 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law CONCLUSION
Plaintiff respectfully requests that the Court enter default and default judgment
against each Defaulting Defendants, including a corresponding profit award under 35
U.S.C. § 289, award statutory damages in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000)
per each Defaulting Defendant who also infringes the Kunshengze Copyrighted Works
pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 504(c)(2), and a permanent injunction order prohibiting Defaulting
Defendants from selling Infringing Products. Plaintiff further seeks an order that all assets
in Defaulting Defendants’ financial accounts, up to the requested damages amount of
$250 for each Defaulting Defendant who only infringes Kunshengze Patent and $50,000
for each Defaulting Defendant who also infringes the Kunshengze Copyrighted Works,
including those operated by eBay, as well as any newly discovered assets, be transferred
to Plaintiff.
That's what the court paper says. Just ignore and I'll be fine? I have mc999 on my account and no money in my payout. If they just take the account without having to pay $50,000, thats fine. |
| aria7 | 01-16-2025 06:54 AM | Re: Mc999 - Sherinian law They're scaremongering 'ambulance chasers' who act on behalf of Chinese companies. Loads of them out there.
Work out of shared accommodation addresses to look important and only make money if sellers panic and fold.
I bet they've just sent you dummy papers to frighten you, I've had them myself.
DO NOT make any contact, once you do they have got you.
I've never been taken to court but if I am right, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, they have to quantify their clients loss. The arbitrary figure of $50,000 is simply to scare you.
100% guarantee that if you were stupid enough to contact them and told them the most you could pay was $5,000 they'd take it - because none of their winnings will go to their client and that's still more than they're looking to scalp out of this fishing trip.
All that said, if they did follow through and get you into court then clearly you would need to take legal advice. |
