So let's do survey~! How many successful stories?

After looking at these forums, I feel frustrated, because I see only people who just got suspended actively posting messages. And I feel like I am going to be banned very soon even after doing ip, cookies and everything right.

So Since I am new...

How many of you got suspended and got back on ebay successfully?
if you have got back successfully, then how long you have been using the second account?

raise up your hand..~ :)

Congraturation

how many days you think ebay watch over new account?

CPUGEEK 03-29-2007 06:01 PM

I been back on ebay for 6 months now..I think most of you are selling some bogus high risk items or something.. It s something that most are doing wrong..I havent been touched(knock on wood) in 6 months. and the people I made accounts for havent been touchd! The key is to have a email from like comcast, earthlink..etc they dont like the free emails..

They don't like Gmail as well?

aspkin 03-29-2007 09:28 PM

Gmail is great, so is Yahoo.

Read some comments from my blog post on the final eBay guide. Lots of good stuff there.

Well, even before I came to this forum I've been quite successful creating user names and keeping them over 1 year or so. I've had a number of user names maybe 10 or so, but only 3 that I REALLY used, (the others were just to try to see how to get around Ebay, doing what works, etc, and got banned very quickley). Each time that I get suspended, even though I CAN start over I'd feel extremely angry because I've worked hours and thought about it for hours just for Ebay to take it all away from me again. So, when my last powerseller account got suspended, I came to this forum to seek advice and just vent. It's much easier to have other people's brainpower instead of trying to think of all the insane questions (do i need to change IP/email/etc) by yourself.

Anyways, now I'm back on, and also making some back up user IDs. However I will try to not depend on Ebay so much, and find other ways to sell my items.

CPUGEEK just curious what type of items do you sell?

I've been up and running since last year now with no problems. I've been leaving off the items that were getting vero'ed for me and running this account having learned a lot more about the ebay listing regulations. I don't sell high end stuff (most is around $15) so I guess nobody is watching these kind of listings too closely. I've gotten to thinking that you're less likely to attract attention the longer you've kept your nose clean and the more feedback you've built up.

What I also did was set up a couple of sleeper accounts this year from unlinkable computers and have been selling 5 - 10 items a week on there at really discounted prices. as soon as I list them, they sell straight away and feedback is growing and up to 20 - 30 on each. I figured I'll have them 'matured' and ready to go as / when I need to switch.

I'd strongly recommend setting something like this up. I spend only a few minutes each day on it. just knowing that there's a 4 month old account sitting with 30+ feedback ready if I need it, makes me feel a helluva lot better than the prospect start again from scratch. kinda like an insurance policy!

Jamesy, great advice! That could bring some members stress levels way down just to know there is a back up (insurance policy) if the dreaded happens. Just make sure if anyone else does this, go above and beyond when distancing accounts, use a different computer if you must.

Please post your success stories

Hello, I just recently found this forum and I must say all of you seem very intelligent when it comes to eBay. I'm asking that the people who have been suspended from eBay post their success stories and how they have got back onto ebay and stayed on.

I was suspended from eBay myself about 2 weeks ago for selling virtual items, which is now banned. I refused to follow eBay's policies on this matter and now I am paying the price. I still sold other item's on ebay that were legal, and I am looking forward to being able to sell again.

If you guys could post some basic rules to follow when using eBay under another account and also some information on how you have stayed active on eBay during your suspenion, I would greatly appreciate it and I'm sure everyone else would. Thank you for viewing!

Haha, welcome to the club on virtual items. I believe the only thing you can sell now is second life lindens and powerleveling services. EBay is dead to virtual sellers now. Your best bet is to start focusing on your own website to sell your items. The only people still selling on eBay are the Chinese hardcore farmers who use software and proxies to create their accounts and auctions. It's a short life for their accounts, but some are very persistent. Focus on a selling site. Learn SEO, use adwords, and other internet marketing techniques to gain sales.
