Changing Name on eBay... Ban issue?

Hello,

Previously like many of us on here i was banned from eBay. Got a friend to set up a account with their details. Same details on PayPal but obviously two cards, one registered with them and another one where i can deposit my money into.

Currently been on 10 months, no problems what so ever. If anything eBay have been great. Question is. I want to go full time by doing this i need to change the name of the friend to mine and Just have a new (unused) address possibly a self storage unit, where ill keep the items. With my name on there, do i stand any chance of being banned? Keep in mind im 10 months in. Top rated blah blah.

So all im looking to do is change the registered address (never used address) and name to mine. Risk?

Iv also spoke to eBay about this and they said a self storage unit will be fine.

I wouldn't change the name, I would keep the name the same.

Having the registered address as a storage unit should be fine, as long as it is in your friends name.

For tax issues don't i have to change it to my name? Can eBay ban just for a name alone?

One more question. Could i just put for instance T Smith . Do eBay require a full name? Finally would i have to fax in some sort of ID to prove who i am? I did ring eBay just to let them know there was 2 of us doing this (i didnt give my name) and for tax reasons would i have to change my address. The replied with yes. Hence i would need to change my name also. Any suggestions?

Tax issues have nothing to do with the name on an account. You can call yourself anything you like as long as you are not doing it to commit a crime. Tax is about income and expenditure

Reps cant be relied upon for proper information. Address change is no big deal. I have done it many times and never got limited. However once you even attempt to change name they will link you and banned. They do not care about Top Rated, Power Seller or even if your Bill Clinton. There are no second chances. Once banned you are banned for life.

Why not go the business route? Get a DBA, Reseller license, or even ltd... ?

Im slightly worried because its in my friends name so i dont want them knocking on their door because they would become liable wouldn't they?

Suppose i could change to a business name? BUT doesn't ebay ask for first and last name? Any suggestions would be great!

ha thats good to hear, because when i spoke to eBay they said they can become liable. Thought it was quite strange. Im going to change the address and then perhaps the name. Probably change it to my ebay username. So nothing to worry about as in Tax purposes?

Leave the name alone - be told!!!!

Yeah, just leave the name be. Best to stay under the radar with them.
