Default Possible solution to a new shipping address

I just got back from buying a PO box and now you can ship to the USPS post office address with your PO box at the very end of the address, so it looks like a real address. They also told me UPS and Fedex can NOW deliver packages to your PO Box using this address.

I will be ordering a few packages to this address to see how it works out. Might be the way to purchase items on ebay after being suspended.... anyone else hear about or try this?

Also cheaper to get a Box at a Ma' and Pa' type of place but if there are none and it works for Post Office Box then sounds like a promising notion. Let us know how it works out.

Using PO boxes are nothing new. However, only postal mail can be mailed to PO boxes here in Canada and that's the biggest downside about it.

Sounds good and all, but did you open po box in your real name? And what is their policy with accepting items under a differnt name ie stealth name?

Also just wondering what are costs of the box per month?

When you sign up you can put a list of names that they will accept. I created a DBA so I put my business name on there with my real name. Also the post office people know me well since I ship a lot. They also set it up to send me a text message or email when I get mail.

It cost me $29 for 6 months, even cheaper if I paid for a full year. This is for a small box but when I get packages it will go into a bigger box. That is pretty cheap I think....

In my state I cannot get any mail without using my real name or business name.

At my old location I tried this once the post master told me they would return any and all mail with their address on it.

Something has changed if they allow this now.

Which is a good thing.

Well the US postal is having major money issues, maybe they changed policy. Last time I looked into it you couldn't receive mail under other names.

I posted about that change nearly two months ago.

I included the blurb from the USPS site.

I receive mail in a different name without any problem at my post office.

I'm there almost every day and know the post master well.

its a little post office in a small town. I have several small towns within 5-10 miles of me and i use three of them without any problems having mail delivered in different names.

they all know i sell on e bay and i tell them i have mail from different people coming to this p.o. box. At each one i had to write the name on a list for them and then everything was just fine.

I use all my ste alths with p.o. boxes

i have fedex, ups or whatever delivered what i buy to my p.o. box. never a problem

i use an adress like:

xxxxx xxxxx
123 clark st. no 666 ( or num 666)
anywhere, texas
75655

the 123 clark st. is the post office address
the 666 being my box number

The good thing about me using an address like this was when i file a dba or an ein, its found in there data bank and it goes through just fine. and i get the mail i need to get.

all my p/o boxes are in my real name...all my dba's are my real name....all my ein's are in my real name....i always use my own ssn........

going on 14 months for two ste alths and 2 months for 3

haven't had any problems at all yet.

A large hurdle is ebay/paypal reject PO box info, so MUST be an address format. A UPS/mailbox place works well, but still must provide identity proof, & having a business name really works well.

You can also do this (if possible), Open a Box at a small place that has P.O. Boxes for rent. You open the Box in a "Fictional Business Name", You can use this address as a stealth account info but also for returns. If you have a customer doing a return, you give the customer that address for return. If customer ask why that address? You say it's the company that collects all my returns for me or something to that nature.

Example:
ABC Company (fictional company)
Return Department (most Ma and Pa don't care for this)
8888 Main St #200
City, State Zipcode

This may or may not work, I suppose it's just an option.

I did read that but my post master will question it and or will ask for docs of the business etc. My current PM is a real pita and even gives me trouble when I print something that the ink is running low and is not totally dark.

Now they have a rolling cart outside the door and I can just drop boxes in and go. Thank goodness.

My old post master would not allow it at all period even if it was a nationwide thing. She thought the building and contents were hers personally. Even told me that I was not allowed to back in my van that all vehicles had to park front ways.

The other solution was also mentioned. Several small mom and pops that accept mail that might work for people who need and address.

Wow Sandy your PM sounds like a real PIA... Mine are so nice and friendly and are helpful to try and increase revenue. Sounds like your guy is not interested in keeping the numbers up at your location. He might need a reminder from a higher up about his attitude toward the situation.

What about a different Post Office....

As for the name.... A simple C/O is what I use....

Real Name C/O Last Name

Or however you want to do it... There are some options if creative., but not really necessary.... And I do remember something about additional names... I think I put the ebay name on it....

My post master is a total a**. She gives people heck for parking cars if they touch the yellow lines, she yells and tells people to have their money, credit cards etc ready so we can speed things up etc.

I do use many different PO's for shipping as when I am hitting my rounds for thrift stores I drop them and go. This post office close to me in easy because they have a huge wheeled bin sitting there for me to toss and go.

It is just close to me and the next ones are a town away but I have thought of closing this box and going to the next one.

I just hate the fact that one butt hole can do this.

I have already reported her for her nasty psycho problems. The woman has to be on meds of some kind.

One day someone said jokingly to her that he jeep is parked on the yellow line, she came back with when you become post master you can tell me what and how things are done.

I moved a couple years ago and had to take my business to a new post office. When I started going there they were the biggest d*cks to me and I had to fight them on EVERYTHING! They told me my flat rate envelopes were supposed to be "Flat" and I told them to define "flat." I also asked for them to point it out in the hand book. I got in yelling matches with the employees and I kept taking my packages that were not "flat." As soon as I did not give in they started being very nice to me. Now all seems to be good. Sometimes I have to remind them that I spend about 35k a year with the post office. They are also forced to scan every one of my packages and if one does not get scanned, I take it up with them.

Still waiting to confirm my new checking account with paypal so I can order a few items to see how this PO box delivery works out. I will keep you updated.
