Default Ebay Suspension

Would it be alright if I went to the library and started a new ebay account from there? I have used their computers several times in the past on my old ebay address. Can they detect me if I went on the same computer again? Do they know it is not a home computer? I was thinking of starting the account in my fathers name. I live in Pa. and he lives in NJ. Is that too far away? I was thinking at home I will just use dial up. Do I always delete cookies with dial up? I am sorry if these questions are stupid. I am a middle aged woman and do not know much about computers. I was a victim of my son going into an ebay account that I didn't use. He changed my passwords, and listed several items on there that he didn't send. I never knew anything about this because I never used the original email address that the account was associateded with. Well I did find out when ebay suspended me because I was lined to that account. I emailed them many times and I keep getting the same from letter that I linked to the sellers account for nonperformance. If my account was stolen by a stranger I would had a chance but since it was family member they will not help me. What bothers me is that my primary ebay account had over 3400 feedbacks, with three negatives. Why can't they see there is no comparsion between the two accounts? Thaks for any help with this.

Wow Ruby. First off, as Modee says, it's best to use another library or location to create you new account. The IP addresses of most small networks like the one at a library are usually the same for all or most computers. So using one computer is like using them all.

You should be okay with listing for a NJ account.

And you only need to delete cookies before you create a new account. Read the guide again a couple times if you're unsure of your self when creating the new account.

yeah your right . My library has only one ip address, but, the good thing is in the public ip range 200.xxx.xxx.xxx and above. So ebay knows that is a shared ip address and wont look at it so hard since many people can have the same ip. There are 30 computers at my library with the same ip, I hope ebay wouldnt suspend me because I was linked to another person account who use the same computer at the library.

I made 3 accounts at my library on the same public ip but only 1 account got suspended(abusing ebay thing). the other 2 is still up. Plus all 3 accounts is selling the exact same product..

Exactly! EBay treats different IP ranges... different. If you're using a computer connected to a semi-large network, eBay will give you more room for error. That doesn't mean you'll never be caught, cookies will play here, but you have decent chance. EBay has to connect you, and only you with that IP address. Once that happens, it's cake for eBay to connect the rest of the dots and bitch slapping you back to unregistered.
