MC999 on a Picture Today!

Please be aware that ebay sent me an mc999 violation to my 90 day-old stealth. It stated that I violated the picture policy and asked me to click on a link so that I can be “protected as a seller” and provide quality pictures to buyers. I spend time reading about the policy etc. etc.etc. The account is going strong and active. The picture was perfect and very clear. I have used the picture 3 times before on the same account. Needless to say, when I had a verified account my pictures were the worst and never received a violation on none of them. I used the picture to provide a 2nd opportunity to a buyer and the picture was taken down and the listing ended.

Did you happen to keep the stock photo that ebay sets as a default?

Yes. The picture is still active on another listing on the same account. So on my 90 day probation period, this is what I get. Thanks Ebay for looking after me.

Did you make sure that the picture follows the 500 pixels guideline?
They required this a few months ago

I got a few of these. Not worth the risk, just take the extra time and take your own pictures. You'll more than likely be okay. they don't seem to be as detrimental as the mc999's for vero or trademark violations, at least from my experience. but yeah, definitely avoid them. just unnecessary.

I faced same issue few days ago then I just made up the picture using a free photo editor software.

Taking your own picture does seem to help a lot. If you ever have to call in the reps like it when you have taken your own photos.

Even if they take their own pictures, but it's not in compliance with the standards that eBay wants they'll take them down.

So OP has to answer my question before we can figure out what really went wrong and how to fix it

if i try to upload a picture less than 500 mega pixels, I get an error message and am unable to upload them.

I've only seen mc999 for stock photos. Do they give them for sizing issues as well?

Been a few handed out for sizing problems.

They can but in many cases, if your size isn't large enough...the auction won't go live and you get an error message about the size
