Default Problems with first listings

PlEASE HeLP!!! I recently purchased your Stealth Book, and tbh, I am completely confused.

Today, I finally got up the courage to try and list on my new stealth account (not actually new, it is on a fam member a/c from dec 2007). Anyhoot, I sign up with Auctiva, get the token, etc etc. Then, when I go to list, I get an error message telling me that I need to get my merchant account approved and I must offer paypal???

Here's my confusion, I thought Auctiva did not pass your information to ebay?

I went ahead an opened a stealth paypal account and linked it to my 2007 ebay account. However, I do NOT wish to accept paypal, however, I need to find a way to auto email invoice my customers without ebay knowing it? I only want to use my merchant account.

Can anyone help me please???

I'm sorry if this is wrong place to post, but since I couldn't get any answers to questions I have on the book, I didn't know where else to post. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Signed

Your ebay account was made one month after ebay started requiring paypal. You have to accept paypal with your auctions, if you actually receive payments with paypal that's up to you. Read the Merchant account section, it has lots of good info.

Thanks Lakeman...I have been reading the Merchant section. Actually...I've been trying to find the answer myself for hours...

Ok...this is what I did (crosses fingers hoping the right thing). I removed the credit card option from my Auctiva listing, and on my ebay, I linked my paypal and give it as an option (I did not specify "paypal preferred") as I could not bring myself to go that far

I still have my merchant account information in Auctiva, only I removed the merchant account option from my listing. Also, at the bottom of my listing I state "Do not pay until you receive invoice from my merchant provider".

This time my listing lists successfully.

Question: I offer "buy it now or best offer" only, when buyer wins the auction, what will happen now? Will Auctiva automatically still send them a pay now email invoice linking them to my merchant account, or will they simply get the pay now invoice from ebay linking them directly to paypal?

Please help...I've been searching literally all day on these forums for the answer to this.

Thanks again.

Also, I keep hearing about "cartmanager"....can I use cartmanager and auctiva together? or are they the same type of system/program? Thanks for your help.
