IP Linking - Final answer?
I was wondering if anyone has found any concrete evidence of ip linking causing the downfall of accounts?
I have a case that may help. A while back my account got taken down for VERO and a friend who had used my computer to login to his account got taken down too. We were living in a complex with shared internet so we'd often all have the same IP as other people living in it, one whom I am sure has an ebay account that is still running and was never linked (seller account).
Would this be sufficient enough evidence to show that IP alone can not be the cause to close an account? That they have to have something else like information or cookies too? My account went down, and the guy who had logged in on my computer went down, but another guy who had often had the same IP had no issue.
I'm just asking cause recently I forgot to change my IP when switching accounts (probably 8 hours apart though), however I did use different user accounts so cookies etc are not a problem.
