How necessary is a paypal account to have a successful ebay account?
I'm sick of Paypal. They cost me over $130 on my last account. When ebay nailed me for linked accounts, 14 transactions that had been paid for and delivered were Disputed BY paypal, on MY behalf, with the reason that the BUYER may have sent the payment by fraud.
When I went in and said I shipped the item, I received an email saying I was protected by seller protection, and that the funds were being returned to the buyer.
What the hell?!?
Yes, they said the BUYER sent it fraudulently, they asked me to prove I shipped, when i DID, they said I was protected, then took my money away.
So, I digress. I'm done with Paypal. I'm currently converting my website to Google Checkout...
My question: If I have an ebay account, do NOT accept Paypal, and direct users post-sale to google checkout for payment, will this hurt my ebay sales? It protects me a million times over as ebay cannot tell paypal to take my money away if the buyer initiates some bogus claim against me (I sell coupon codes. They are completely legit, but you'd be stunned at how many buyers lie and say the codes don't work and want their money back - and ebay almost always gives it to them).
But if I DONT link a paypal account - will it hurt my selling on ebay?
