I hope I have posted in the right area of the forum.
I am very inexperienced with IT situations and am having trouble with being suspended from ebay for no apparent reason. I have tried resolving with ebay but they further extended other accounts and it has made the situation worse.
I am going to open up a stealth account and am just learning some of the basics.
I read to change your IP address to avoid tracking you should just turn off your computer at the mains then turn off your router or modem (sorry don't know what it is- the black box!) at the mains. Wait for 5 mins then reboot.
I used a online website which shows your ip address and it had changed. Does that mean I was successful?
Sorry if this seams like a really basic question to a forum full of experts but I would really appreciate your help.
Kind regards x

Yes - the box that connects your network/computer to the Internet.
If your IP address has changed, you have been successful on that aspect. You do need to make new user account (if you're in Windows), to have new account with no cookies.

One last question on this subject I am trying to change the ip address following the stealth guide 3 instructions. I am up to the part where I have accessed my routers set up page but where you are meant to change the WAN Mac address numbers I can't seem to do this. I cannot change the numbers they are fixed and the MAC addresses are either in the LAN port or the ADSL Port I cannot see a WAN Port. I have a sky sagem router if this makes a difference? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to follow exactly as the guide reccomends so I make no mistakes.
As for IP I would suggest you to change to different internet provider. Get a mobile modem or something. This will give you peace and to avoid using the same IPssssssss that you had used before before your account was suspended because eBay records them.
