I have a BT voyager 2500V which is great for changing IP... on off button and yer done!
I was sent a BT Home Hub 2.0 ages ago but didn't set it up...does this change IP at the flick of an on/ off reset?

@galvatron, virgin can be changed.... depends on how you have it set up.
Shortest way:
run this program What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
Record your IP address, Then unplug modem etc overnight.
In AM (or after at least 20 hours) switch back on. Run that program again & IP should be different.
Let me know if that works

Ah, forward thinking! Then do a dongle. That way you have another range of IPs. And you might even consider dial-up. If it's a big scheme you have planned there are choices for you

20 hrs is not always the case.
My BT voyager changes IP instantly once turned on and off.
Try the same with your modem and go to IPBurger.com to see if it changes.

Im on BT. I have the BT HomeHub 2.0 (I think it is... The Black one)
So you are saying that to reset the IP address, I must reset my router each time I want to log onto my ebay/paypal account?
Can't you not log onto the actual BT Router webpage, and reset the IP there somehow? As going back n forth is a bit time consuming...
Just wondering...

Wouldnt using a bluetooth dongle be the most appropriate way to use these custom made ebay/paypal accounts, as the ip will always be random? (Im presuming)
I think I did this a while back in my uni house... never got suspended...
my own reason for it being suspended was coz they wanted proof I had the goods... they then reinstated it after... 3 days I think...

Having said that will do it soon just to see if it worked and report to the forum. Quote:

I could get a bunch of routers but whats the point, have 1 dongle for around 5 or 6 accounts, then get another one from a different provider for more accounts, rinse and repeat

You can get a different IP address by either resetting the modem/router or logging in to the router's settings: http://bthomehub.home
I have one other question. How important is it to change the MAC address of the router/modem in order to stay stealth? Do eBay/PP see the MAC address of equipment used?

Actually I did. I was not able to discern the required information. Your post refers to Router and Cable Modem, perhaps both. My query is also a little general.
I was also responding to the OP's query with a BT ADSL Router.

Ah, I misunderstood then. There's another thread about changing IP for DSL users.
I answered the second part of your question via email.

This will change your ip address. I do it all the time. Search a torrent website & youll find a cracked version of SMAC as the trial version won't give you full access. easy done..

Anyways, I click on "random" to spoof MAC but it always shows the same I.P on I.P Burger |
