Galvatron,

Call your service provider. Ask if your IP is static or dynamic. If they say static, there's nothing you can do to make the IP change except ask them to change your IP to dynamic or get a diagnostic modem and seriously take matters into your own hands. Diagnostic modems aren't the easiest thing to figure out.

Thanks Vic, but you solved my problem a while back, remember.
I only came back here to let everyone know that turning off my modem for 60 hours didnt do it. Just so the community will have some data.
Other then that, I'm using 3 different modems now and everytime I plug in a new one it gives me a new I.P. so I'm happy.
I think virgin came to my home and REGISTERED my modem and router, I think thats what they did, as he took my old modem and gave me a new one. There was nothing wrong with my old one, but he said yes but that wont work in my new falt and I will have to use the new one. So I guess they registered them together, if anythings differedt it wont work.
Vic sadly I'm not as smart as you mate, nor do I have the time to get around the learing curve, I have no doubt that your solution will work. But it's just too tech for me and I'm happy with you previous advice you gave me. Thanks mate.

Hey, this stuff gets technically complicated. It's good that you were decent enough to report back for the rest of the class to benefit.

Yes, I remember helping you before. I thought perhaps you had a new problem develop.

If the unit they gave you is a modem and a router in one unit (combined device), that's the major difficulty. MAC spoofing is easiest to do if the modem and the router are two separate pieces.
