tethering with Android, what should i know, any tips?

I am going to use PDAnet for tethering an ebay, and amazon account. What should I know before I begin my journey? Do I need to worry about cookies on the phone, or the pc since i am connected using usb. I understand that cell phones only have 1 MAC, so I don't have to worry about that? Any tips will help! I'm using "Samsung Intercept" btw.

I use the wireless that my cell phone provides to change my IP for one of my accounts. Worked perfectly and as long as you always check your IP before logging onto ebay and make sure its correct. Follow the stealth guide and you'll be golden!

Similar to what bballaw1 said, You can wirelessly tether your cell phone to your laptop, I use:

Download Wireless Tether for Root Users for your Android phone on AppBrain
(Although it does require you to root your phone).

One thing you' may want to know is; Each time your phone is turned off for ~5 seconds, and back on, it will connect with a new IP address, And/or; If you "Enable Airplane mode" / "Disable Airplane mode" - You'll have a new IP address, which is awesome if you have multiply stealth accounts.

Although, IPs rotate, So you'll want to note which IP been used with which account, so each time you get a new IP, cross reference it with your notes to ensure you don't link yourself.

If your laptop/desktop has a RJ45 - You'll want to remove it, Just in-case your phone single drops and you end up logged in, and using an old IP

Is it so important to have the same IP address when tethering with a mobile phone?.. If you are getting new IP's every time you switch on your phone to use with for example your laptop, does eBay get suspicious with many different IP addresses for one account over a period of time?
Nany people are using mobile phones to list and log into ebay so is it a problem?.. I don't undestand

I had the same question before and was told that as more people use mobile internet cards and hotspots, it becomes less of an issue. I am doing the same thing and thousands of other people.
While it would be great to have the same IP to use for each account, I was told that there was no negative consequence observed (yet).
I also noticed that when I use my mobile hotspot, the IP address geotags to different states (TX, CA). I was told this was a non-issue as well.

Not really, a lot of users are still on dialup and Ebay/PP knows this. What is important is Cookies.

What don't you understand? Here's the thing.....We tell people NOT use the Ebay/PP Apps if they already had used it before on the SAME phone or Tablet. Now, what some people have done is gone out and bought brand new phones and installed the app to run their new account.

Excellent post. Sorry to drag it out of the woodwork. I am on Verizon(USA) I have used PDAnet for several years to do this for my IP. With a simple airplane mode and your back in business.

It is best to have a Dedicated IP for each account, but when you are out and about and NEED to get in contact nothing beats it.

It's obvious... But make sure your computer user account for your stealth doesn't have any other preferred networks saved, possibly from connecting to the wifi in your house. If your using mobile hotspot and the connection fails the home wifi will connect. NOT GOOD...
