| | | vers0 | 10-29-2007 08:06 PM | WRZNET, I use Netzero for Dialup ISP, They give you 10 hours free each month. There is an annoying banner but you get use to it. I have 3 PC with Netzero installed on each PC with different user accounts. I get 30 free hours a month. I never use close 30 hours because I only connect to eBay when I have to. I have mentioned the use of Auctiva which saves me from using eBay. There is not need to pay for Dialup. |
| mommyof4justtryingtomake$ | 11-20-2007 12:18 PM | Hi guys & gals,
Hopefully one of you guys can help me out. My ISP is Telus Highspeed and I am in BC Canada. My account with ebay was suspended yesterday morning for the famous "Abuse" and I have been working on changing my IP since then. I tried unpluging everything and turning everything off over nite but I still get the same darn IP address. Ihave also tried the ipconfig stuff and that wont work either. I am running Windows Visa on my laptop and used Mozilla browser.....if that helps
If someone could please lend me a hand it would be greatly appreciated. I have 4 babies and absolutely need to get me inventory sold on Ebay so we can have X-mas........if I can't get back on to ebay X-mas is going to blow for us.
Sincerely Sad Ebay Sucks |
| prosniper | 11-20-2007 03:36 PM | That did it! Thanks! |
| koalawash | 11-20-2007 04:21 PM | mommyof4,
It's easier just to use AOL, you know? I'm using a cable highspeed connection right now and it always works for me. Just log on again each time you want to use ebay. |
| mojoyuni | 11-26-2007 02:07 PM | ebay blocked!! i was once had a great feedack averaging 98% positive for 4 years. This year I let my brother handle that duty since I was swamped at work and had twins. He screwed things up and now the ebay account got suspended. I try to open a new accounts with different credit cards and even tried to use my wife's name but somehow after a few days it continues to get suspended! How are they doing this? Any help? |
| seeeder | 01-04-2008 08:16 AM | Some ISP's have option to buy an additional IP address like mine does (if you dont want to go through other steps/having problems ). But i will probably change my ISP as i m close to the end of my contract |
| myfacespacebook | 01-25-2008 10:21 PM | How To Change Ip For Cable Modems With Router 1) Open internet browser
2) type "192.168.1.1" without " " in navigation bar
3) leave user BLANK and type "admin" without " " as password
4) Look for MAC ADDRESS settings tab, if you cannot find it, try looking under advanced settings
5) Once located, enable MAC ADDRESS cloning if needed, then change the LAST TWO boxes using letters A-F then numbers 0-9. For example "A2" or "C3"
6) Click SAVE
7) Go to your MODEM and click/hold the RESET button on the back of it for a second or so.
8) Wait a minute or so and you should have fully functioning internet with a new public ip address.
IMPORTANT: If for some reason (this has never happened to me) your internet does not-reactivate, DO NOT PANIC. Just unplug your modem and router for a couple seconds, then replug them back in to reset them to factory defaults. |

| moomooj | 02-20-2008 08:12 PM | OMG I did something absolutely idiotic today! I was doing my usual signing up new account routine this afternoon. I use cable connection usually, which has an IP address associated with a couple banned Ebay accounts. Then when I sign up new accounts or access my still standing Ebay accounts I use a dial up connection through Netzero. So today I was about 90% through, right at the "verify your email" stage. Then I realized that I forgot to turn off my wifi connection on the computer the whole time. The virtue of the story is that a IP log is absolutely imperative so that we make sure no accidents!!!! |
| GreenBean | 02-20-2008 10:55 PM | Did you get out OK without problems? I broke one of my own rules, was more than p****d and signed in and sat looking at a strange name. Then I realized
what was going on: will not do that again in a hurry. (Sign in, that is.) . |
| ivegotinfo | 02-21-2008 05:58 PM | hahah, same thing with me, i accidentally logged into a different paypal account than the one that i should have logged into with the particular dialin number i was using.. i panicked and smashed alt f4 like 10 times.. closed every program i had running... account still ok after a month! maybe thats the good thing about dialup, its so slow you have time to prevent mistakes like this |
| GreenBean | 02-21-2008 09:03 PM | Yeah. I had a minor earthquake with my F4 key. Nearly split the liquor so I had
to decide quick what to save. Went for the computer. ROFLOL. |
| yoshis | 02-21-2008 10:30 PM | I have had 3 different e-bay accounts in the last year and have never changed my IP (they were supended for other reasons) I have a new account now that has been running for 4 days so far!!(knock knock) i don't think it's the ip itself as much as the other flags you throw at them. One thing I do do more now is ccleaner EVERYTIME I DO ANYTHING on e-bay KILL THE COOKIES. I have 4 paypal accounts transfer tons between them and no limiting so far. Has anyone been banned by the ip alone? |
| koalawash | 02-21-2008 11:02 PM | eww don't use Vista, it's crap. |
| mrtag | 02-23-2008 01:40 PM | Changing your IP address Hello everyone..
This is a great site for learning... But I,m sorta stuck when it comes to changing my IP address. I'm using a linksys wireless router with cable modem and when I connect the cable modem directly to the computer and when I unplug the modem and wait a few minutes I do get a new IP address. Ok the problem is when i reconnect the router it goes back to the old IP address  . Does any one have a guide on HOW TO change IP address ???
Also I say in one of the forums thread (think I can find it now) HOW to get back on eBay using a new name, address, and phone # ect.......Can anyone point me in that direction ??
I even tried using HIDE MY IP and using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ IP address but that sucked it didn't work I got suspended within 2 days.
thanks Guys and keep up the great work..
Mrtag;) |
| ivegotinfo | 02-23-2008 07:02 PM | dont use proxies (like hide my ip) they suck
unplug the cable modem from the router, and unplug it from the wall
at the back of the router should be a tiny pinhole button, get a pin and hold it for 5 seconds to fully reset the router. then plug the cable modem back into router and plug it into the wall.
if this doesent work then you will have to call up your isp to get a new ip. if they cant give you a new ip, you will have to use dialup or vpn |
| aspkin | 02-23-2008 11:50 PM | This type of question comes up ALOT!!

I think with the variety of modems around.. this would be fairly difficult.. plus anything you might get from a dongle.. could be downloaded so it would be better as a site. there's sites out there that give customisation tips on your particular router or modem.....
I think mrtag might want to check if the ip he's getting when he plugs in the router isn't in fact a local IP being broadcast internally...e.g. is it along the lines 192.xxx.xxx.xxx or 255.xxx.xxx.xxx or even 10.10.10.xxx
also.. the other info you need mrtag is elsewhere on the eff oh are oh ems |

But haven't received any notifications from them so far. I don't even know what to do with that account anymore. It will probably just be a part of the fading memory. |
| yoshis | 02-26-2008 06:08 PM | Quick thought for all of you. Suppose E-Bay IS tracking IP Addresses. If you go to a library and sign up for a different e-bay account, and just suppose some who got booted also signed up at the same computer in the library, do the boot you? No because if they did that half the country would get booted. I have been doing computers for a long time and they can track your ip address but that doesn't mean alot because they can't pinpoint it to anything more than a city set by the isp. Who's to say if I have 30 accounts on the same IP that I'm not signing up from a dorm computer at a college? Where they are getting you is COOKIES! I use ccleaner EVERYTIME. (Ask again from a previous post) HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SUSPENDED FOR IP ADDRESS? most likely not, screwed up some other way. ALL mine were this case!! |

people get suspended for ip issues all the time... be lucky if you weren't affected yet.
if there are 30 different people with 30 different ebay accounts using a university computer with the same IP and then the ebay software links this ip to a suspended account, then there is indeed a good chance that all 30 (innocent) users get suspended! ebay doesn't care if half the country gets suspended!
i've once complained on the paypal hotline about my limitation and said that there must be many thousand random limitations every day and the paypal guy confirmed that there are indeed many thousand limitations every day... |
| yoshis | 02-27-2008 04:32 PM | good point modee that's what I said with one exception. EBAY CAN'T tell if the ip is a public one or not! That is not public info your ISP isn't allowed to tell that unless court ordered (remember Napster? the music industry wanted all the names of people downloading music, wanted judge to release the ip addresses with names) But as you said it is a starting point for suspension. |
| eddie1681 | 03-16-2008 04:57 PM | Will a new router take care of the IP problem?
Many say the ip is base on the MAC number on the router
I am going to go get another router and see if that will change it |
| mtime88 | 05-26-2008 01:50 PM | I just use neighbors wifi :D |

I am going to go get another router and see if that will change it | u can change the ip by cloneing the MAC address in your router. there is a opition in the set up page |
| brokebackebay | 07-01-2008 01:34 PM | okay, working hard at this and maybe getting somewhere. But I need to clarify something first.
Why is there a difference between the IP address that shows up at ipburger and the IP address when I do the ipconfig thing? Which is the one that should be changing and how much should they be changing? If the ipconfig only changes the numbers after the last .dot, is that good enough? |
| brokebackebay | 07-01-2008 06:46 PM | I think I got my question answered on another thread. IP address shown by ipburger.com is the one I am to be concerned about changing. IP address showing up when I do the ipconfig thing is the one my router assigns....right? So, just unplugging my modem for a short time gives me a new IP on the ipburger.com, which is all I'm trying to get, right? No need to reply, unless I'm not getting that right. |
| greg2414 | 07-01-2008 06:50 PM | your with AOL? if so i dunno :p |
| brokebackebay | 07-01-2008 10:21 PM | Not with aol, if that question directed towards me. |
. 1) Open internet browser

I did this an the internet did not pop right back up. So, I powered off the modem and routher, powered back up, went to ipburger, and BAM!, new ip address!
TYTYTY!! |
. fyi -- i tried it once more (just to try it) and it WORKED w/o having to power off! :) |
| gooner90 | 09-11-2008 12:14 AM | ip addresses I use wireless and everytime i have to connect to the internet and each time it comes with a different ip address sometimes it can be similar by only having a couple different numbers at the end and sometimes completely different. Will it matter if say the ip address was nearly the same just with say a 7 instead of a 6 at the end or wil it have to be quite different if you get what i mean? Also its the client ip address that matters not the server ip right? Im not too technical on these things as you can probably tell |
| Quasi_Mojo | 09-11-2008 01:35 PM | Check with IPBurger and see what it says your IP Address is. This is the one that eBay sees.
From what I've read, the IP only needs a change of one number. |
| Caseyjr86 | 09-15-2008 07:28 PM | I had 4 ebay accounts, all on one ip.. One got suspeneded then 2 others following.. But I have one account that is still there (and selling..) Weird.. Just thought I would add that.. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:26 PM. | |
