Default tmobile 4g rocket broadband device IP issues

Hi all,

Ive been having a very annoying issue with my new tmobile mobile broadband device... Ill go to my stealth user account and then connect using the tmobile device, and then Ill check IPBurger for my ip address and record it in my log... Then I start going to ebay and paypal and after a couple minutes check IPBurger again, and the IP changed!!!

As far as I know, it is not disconnecting or reconnecting constantly... This is very annoying and not good for stealth I guess because it could be changing to ips that ive already used on other ebay accounts.

Anyone have advice? Or should I just switch to another provider?

It could very well be because the device is switching from 4G to 3G or even EDGE and then back again. These are running on different frequencies and when the device can't find 4G service, it goes down the line until it can connect to any tower it can find.

Uggggg!!!! What a good explanation, and I bet you are exactly right. I wonder if there is any way to avoid or fix this...? I guess having only a 3g device might help a little...

Thank you for your insightful reply

It's built in the firmware of the devices. Being able to hack the modem and deactivate individual frequencies is far beyond me haha.

You could either use a 3G only device or try to use it in areas where you know your coverage is solid on 3G or 4G.

EDGE would be the strongest signal of them all, but that would require tethering a low end phone or simply an older phone that doesn't have 3G/4G capabilities.
