If I can change my IP (cable modem/router) do I need to invest in a VPS?

I change my IP from router settings this method works great, but if u are creating an account in another country a VPS is necessary

VPS is only need if you want to appear to be in a location totally different from your actual location. It does have other benefits as well, but 99/100 so long as you can change your IP address then you are fine.

You want your country IP? Or trying for different country IP? Would not need VPS if you have your own selection of country IP via dongles, phone tethering, cable, dial-up, etc.
