Best MAC address changing software to make your life easier

I use and recommend the software called TMAC.

It's freeware, extremely user friendly and the best thing about it is you can predefine a preset with the different MACs you are using and change from one to another with 2 clicks.

Most convenient tool i found after trying what is out there.

can you explain which , in the line of mac addresses is one that need change,
i got

wireless network no
mobile connection 1 yes
local area yes
wireless connection 2 no

the top and bottom ones have same mac
the middle 2 have different mac
which one is my dongle> i assume it is mobile connection1 so why does it say down non operational when i use it.

I downloaded TMac and couldn't get it work for me If you have any advice on what I might be doing wrong, I'd love to know. It seems my ip never changes when I use the program. I have to manually set my MAC through my routers setup page.

same thing here, can't change ip although MAC address is changed

Don't use the current version which is V6, looking for an older version V5 work much better and easier.

If you just smash your keyboard when typing a 'random mac' it may not work properly. I'm no sure how syntaxt is involved in the MAC recognition, but i know there are some definitions that are recognized or NOT recognized by the program like general type of your machine. To choose a MAC that's random and new, and will 100% work fine generate a random MAC from TMAC itself - do this:
- Open TMAC
- Click Information tab
- Click Random MAC Address
- Copy whats showed up on the left and use it when making and setting a preset. (on the Preset tab)
*When changing the mac you need to have Local Area Connection selected from the list at top.
@missinglink choose Local Area Connection and have the cable plugged in directly to your pc. If you are using wireless you can't change mac that way as the mac of your wi-fi router is the main one.

so you sayin dongle mac is not transmitted (if it is at all - controversial) only wifi mac transmitted.

There are 2 different MAC addresses that people seem to often associate together.

MAC address of your router or modem (what Tony is referring to). Can be changed to get a new external (WAN) IP.

MAC address of your PC. There is no reason to change this.

If you wired your modem to the computer , the readen Mac will be from your network card (NIC)
If you use router then the readen Mac will be from it ( and not from the PC network card)
If you are asking me so ebay can't see your MAC address since there is at list 8-12 hop between you and ebay site .... So they can see only the last hop ( the closest nod to them) so there is no need to try changing the Mac on that software if it's not letting you to obtain new IP address.

I just posted a question about this issue in fact after I found another forum today called "screw-paypal" and read their free stealth guide where they say that ebay paypal do log the computer hardware code (lan mac number) and computer name.

You say this is a myth. I wondered whether you could say more, because, I'm wondering why they state that if its untrue and whether I need a new computer now!
Obviously, lots of people here are managing the stealth accounts without needing to replace hard-drives or get new computers.
Still I wondered about this to understand exactly is and isn't going on, that they can and can't see and do.

Just searched tmac. Its at version 6.0.5 now
Windows only Freeware.

is there anything like this for osx or GNU/Linux?
