TalkTalk SuperRouter VDSL/Fibre and IP Address change

So I have TalkTalk Fibre broadband (run through BT openreach).

Previously I had BT Openreach fibre modem + my own router, I could change the mac on the router, new ip instantly and im happy.

Due to some technical fault on the modem, they sent me a new modem/router combined called TalkTalk SuperRouter. Since this is combined, I cannot change its mac etc. as this router seems very locked down. Furthermore, the ip address seems static. Although fibre, technically speaking, requires a dynamic ip, my IP since having this router simply never changes, its been a month now. Despite restarting it multiple times, despite cutting out power and waiting several hours, despite messing about with nearly all the settings on the router, it simply wont let the ip go.

Anybody got the same problem?

You need to call your ISP and ask them what modem that you can purchase that would be acceptable for there service, because u want a separate modem and separate router

I recently had this with Comcast, I came home one day and found that there was a modem/router combo

On there website they have a list of approved modems I could purchase, so I found one on Amazon and it just took a couple minutes on the phone with Comcast to get it activated
